This is my hamster’s FAVORITE brand and the only one we buy. The barley seeds are fresh and will actually grow if planted (my hamster buries food near water sources sometimes and little sprouts of barley grass will pop up). This is the only brand where my hamster will eat ALL the seeds instead of picking through and only eating certain ones. We started off with a more expensive brand but grabbed Vita Prima once when our usual brand was out and have never gone back. Great value. Excellent nutrition. Quality ingredients. Love it.

My Dwarf Hamster Abby seems to really enjoy this mix but not to the point of over eating, which is a good thing. I like it that there is not a lot of corn in the mixture, and that is a good thing too. I definitely will be reordering again.

My dwarf hamster started drinking a lot of water and urinating more often in the last few weeks. I read that it could be a symptom of diabetes and to switch their diet. The last brand of food I bought had a lot of corn in it, and corn = sugar. I bought this since it specified dwarf hamsters and so far it has made a noticeable difference. She loves it. In less than a week on this diet she drinks a lot less and is active and healthy-looking. Note that there is hardly any corn in this mix than most other hamster food. I wish it was less expensive though.
