I really like the design of this because it seems to mix the typical plug style and inner tire repair. This is cool because it has the durability of an internal repair, but it also has the plug that fills the gap on some tires with a fairly good sized chunk missing. I used this to repair a lawnmower tire that than been punctured with a good size piece of wire. Plugs just weren't filling the space well and sealing. This did the trick sealing inside.

Worked well on radial car tire. Used these to patch a nail hole in my wife's radial tire. I have a tire machine so it was easy, If you don't it can be a big pain to break the bead of the tire. I removed the wheel and tire from the vehicle, broke the bead and removed the tire from the wheel, reamed out the hole, buffed the inside of the tire, put vulkenizer glue on the inside of the tire and patch, put it through the hole from the inside of the tire and pulled it through with pliers then used a sticher to flatten and seal the patch,. finally I cut off the metal piece and re mounted the tire.. It sealed very well and don't expect to have any problems with it. This isn't really a DIY process but with the right equipment they seem to work well. But I have only used 1 so far, but I expect the rest will work just as well. Good value for 24 of them under $20.

While I don't have a tire with a hole in it at the moment, I thought it made sense to have a tire patch kit on hand for the inevitability of a future flat. My husband, who knows more about theses types of things than I do, inspected the kit and gave it a definite thumbs up. So this goes under the heading of preparedness. And according to my husband, recommended.

... note that this is not a complete kit, and you will have to supply your own glue or "vulcanizing compound" as stated in the instructions. If tire smell offends you, also take note that as soon as you open the box, you will think you are in a tire store, as the smell is quite strong. I have used the old style plugs with great success, one of them lasting the life of an almost new tire, and I will assume that if properly prepped and used, these should meet or exceed the older style's performance. For what it is, what it does, and what it costs: Four StarsI am the Totally Unbiased Reviewer Dude (T.U.R.D.) and that is how I see it.
