Solar charge regulator is designed to control the charging from solar panel into battery, and the power draw from the battery to outputs. Therefore keep the whole solar system at proper working condition. This solar charge regulator can be best used with our series solar panel with quick connector end.
Technical data:
Operating Temperature :-10℃ to 42℃
Humidity:≤80 %
Max. input Voltage :22V
Max. array current:7A
Over discharge protection:11V +/- 0.3V
Over charge protection:15.5V +/- 0.5V
How to Charge:
Please always connect the battery first.
Connect Solar panel, 12V rechargeable battery, and application (if any) as describe in the image of No.4 .
When solar panel is connected to the solar charge regulator, the charging LED will go on to show that the 12V rechargeable battery is receiving charge from the solar panel
The charge regulator provides following protections for the whole system
Over-discharge protection: When activated, “Low Voltage” indicator will go on, the charge regulator will shut off power output to prevent damage to the battery. In such case, Please stop using any application.
Over-charge protection: When activated, “High Voltage” indicator will go on, the charge regulator will shut off power input from solar panel to battery. Please disconnect solar panel from the charge regulator.
This solar charge regulator can be mounted through its three mounting holes
Caution:
1.Please do not short circuit and/or reverse the polarity of the load, the solar panel, & the battery.
2.Place the charge regulator at a cool and ventilated place. Avoid contact with water.
AFTER EACH USE: Disconnect the Charge Regulator from the battery and solar panels. Always disconnect the battery first.

The first one I ordered lasted 3 weeks then died! 2nd one I ordered was not working right out of the box! Solar panel is fine. Crappy product. Amazon even says on their description it has high return rate. Stay away!

I'm a little confused on this thing. It regulates the voltage down from 20v coming in from the panel to 13v?! Not 14.5v13v will not recharge a depleted battery - it will maintain one in long term storage though. So - I gave it 3 because it does regulate for trickle charging (13v) but fails as a regulator (14.5v) for a solar system.

I have used this controller daily for 3 years and it is working well. I have it trickle charging my 2013 Camry AGM battery. The solar panel is a Harbor Freight 12V Thunderbolt 25W Amorphous style rated at 2A max. It sits on top of the dash when in use. I connect to the battery through the OBD2 port via a connector that converts OBD2 to SAE. This keeps every component inside the vehicle, protected, and dry. Unlike the cigarette lighter ports, the OBD2 is *always on*, so there is a direct connection to the battery through it even when the car is parked and switched off. I live in an apartment and needed a trickle charge that didn't need to be plugged in to an outlet. I use a parking space that faces south for maximum sun exposure. I place the Controller under the dash, so it is never in direct sunlight expecially in the summer months. The routine for Disconnecting and Connecting the Controller:When you are leaving home: Enter the car. Disconnect the Solar Panel from the Controller. Disconnect the Battery from the Controller. Start the car and drive. When you return home: Park the car. Turn off the car. Connect the Battery to the Controller. Connect the Solar Panel to the controller. Check that the Charging LED is lit. Exit and lock the car.The controller is simple to use, and instructions were clearly written. It has three LEDs that make monitoring the battery and the charging simple.

Works as advertised. Use it to regulate a 10 watt Go Zero solar panel. The controller installed on the panel wiring fried so I cut it off, splice the wiring back on and installed this controller. I did have to purchase some reverse polarity plugs since my panel had the plug configuration opposite of how the controller was wired. Need to ensure + to +, - to -.Most folks will tell you that you don’t need a controller for a solar panel that only produces 10 watts, but since mine originally had one and the fact that it produces 20 VDC in direct sunlight, I did it anyway. Plus this controller description did say that it worked well with lower watt panels. Anyway, I use to keep my Red-Top battery topped off on my Jeep. When I first installed it, the battery was at 11.3 volts; 24 hours later is was at 12 volts. So it does charge and not just maintain the charge on a battery that’s not significantly discharged.

Works great, but needs protection against accidentally disconnecting from battery before disconnecting solar panel.I accidentally unplugged the battery first (habbit of working with batteries) and damaged the controller from the 1 amp panel I was charging from.I am changing this my rating from 2 stars to 5.Even though the problem was my accident, their customer service contacted me and they are sending me a new unit. This time I will try to be sure to disconnect solar panel first!!!5 stars to their customer service also!
