This ball of shredded paper immediately grabbed our Moluccan Cockatoo's attention! This is the first toy that she went right up to and started playing with. It keeps her attention for long periods of time. I HIGHLY recommend this toy to anyone who wants a durable, attention grabbing bird toy!

This is a nice non-toxic toy. My bird is still getting used to it.

My bird loves the ball of papers to pull on. Unfortunately the chain that hangs it is cheap and rusts.

This is extremely "big" for a little conure but my guy is an enthusiastic chewer. Instead of hanging it I clipped it to the top of his cage. He instantly claimed the ball and has spent hours working on it today. It's a nice change from his cardboard toy box and other toys which normally sit on the cage top. I believe this ball will take him a while to destroy so we're both happy. I am not sure what is in the interior but I stuck some wood chewing sticks into the sides of it which he's also happy with. I bought this thinking my Pionus would be interested in it but she ignored it for several months so little Alonzo got his brand new hand-me-down today. Happy happy bird.

I have a Citron Cockatoo. He is a big boy with a busy beak. At all times we must keep a minimum of three toys in his cage to explore while the family is out. We always have a set of blocks that my husband makes from a non treated 2 x 4 that he drills and we chain for his beak and chewing needs. We always have a foraging toy such as a small metal bird cage that we purchased on Amazon a few years ago where he knows that he will find his favorite nut or two in the center. This Shredder Ball is well made and very colorful. With a few repairs on my part, it lasted four days. He first began to pull the colorful paper. My goal, was to collect as many papers to either reuse in this toy or another toy. It seems that Cockatoo owners take on the habits of their birds and try to stay one step ahead of them. When he started to destroy the sisal rope beyond the point of my repair abilities, I was happy to find two sturdy blocks predrilled in the center. Time to make a new toy!For a smaller parrot, I do believe that this toy will last considerably longer.

Our African Grey LOVED this thing. Or hated it - it's hard to tell. (Kidding - he was clearly entertained) Point is, he spent all his time and energy enthusiastically destroying it as soon as it was hung in his cage. I ordered the medium size, and he completely dismantled it in less than a week. We kept sticking the little blocks back into the net to try and extend its life just a bit longer. The bottom of his cage looks like a rogue Mardi Gras parade passed through town. Once satisfactorily demolished, he then went to the bottom of the cage and played with all the blocks. It was very funny to watch him and he was obviously having a blast. I just wish it lasted longer, as a weekly restock is not practical. But I attribute the ball's short life to our bird's destructive skills and not to a lack of durability with this product.

My Goffin Cockatoo just loves this toy and attacked it immediately!!! He is an avid paper shredder & loves to forage for his treats. This item works perfectly on both fronts. I hide his treats inside and enjoy watching him find them. He pulls & shreds the colored paper which is non-toxic, the colors are made from food dye, like an excited kid w/a new toy. The floor of his cage now looks like its covered in confetti. He can be messy at times, so make sure you don't mind cleaning up shredded paper before you purchase. When he finds a hidden treat, he raises his crest, squawks loudly, and does his little happy dance before eating.I highly recommend this toy to anyone who owns a bird that loves to shred or forage. The medium size looks like a colorful softball and is perfect for my cockatoo. It would be great for African Greys, Amazons or other birds of similar size. If you own a smaller species such as quakers, conures, cockatiels, or parakeets, I would suggest a smaller one, since this size might be too large or scary for them. A larger bird such as Macaws, Moluccan, Sulfer Crested, or Umbrella Cockatoos would definitely need a bigger ball of fun. If you're lucky enough to salvage the ball's rope netting before your bird gets around to chewing that into pieces, you can re-stuff it w/more non-toxic paper shreds which I have been able to find at my local craft store. As I sit typing this review, Willieboy is hanging on to one side of the ball & digging out a treat. He is definitely happy & thats all that matters!!!
