It locks your brake pedal down firmly, similar to a parking brake. It’s designed for you to be able to add a padlock as well, making it way harder for a would-be thief to make off with your pride and joy. The brake lock also makes shifting into gear easier if you have to park on a slope. Instead of putting your machine into gear to keep it from sliding backwards, you can count on the brake lock to hold it in place. And it’s a must-have for trailering!

The arm that comes across that holds the brake pedal down is 3/4 of an inch, to one inch to short. you have to stand on the brake to get it to latch. when this much pressure is applied to the brake system it cause the brake pressure switch to hydro lock. when the brake is released . The ADV keeps telling you to release the brakes. I was able to release the switch by tapping one time. the next time it happen I had to replace the switch. I have been trying to get this worked out with Super ATV but no help yet. I should have just sent it back to amazon. Now they are telling me its past the return date

This works great on the Polaris Xpedition. Side by sides dont have parking brakes and the parking gear will lock itself if you are on a slight slope. So having a parking brake really helps because if you put it into park on a sharp slope, you may not be able to get it out of park.
