This switch has a different connector than that on a 86 Samurai. But if you use the original and splice it to this switch it will be good to go. Though you can find some that have a compatable connector I chose this because I liked the switch end and the original connector with the integrated rubber seal. I give two thumbs-up on the price, such a deal. 😊
