I purchased the 3X and 5X Barlow multipliers for astrophotography. Not to vue the moon or planets. If that what you are purchasing these for, I would say buy a 2X Barlow and some additional eye pieces like maybe a 10 mm and a 25mm or a 32mm. These are only suggestions not something that is tried and true. But for general viewing of the night sky the higher the power the more noise you will probably have. As for the lenses, I gave them a 5 star rating on construction and ease of use.
