Heavy. Huge. Interferes with mounting when twisting barrel. No, absolutely no improvement over much cheaper sv135.

In new to telescopes. I used this thing for the first time tonight. Being able to start at a low magnification to find the object and then incrementally zoom in (while adjusting focus) was a game changer for me. When I was instead switching lenses, my telescope would bounce out of position and I’d lose the object or the focus would be so off that I’d lose the object that way instead. This is just way easier and better for me to get to a high zoom when and where I want it. I’m sure there are some imperfections that I’m blissfully ignorant to, but who cares? My family had more fun because we bought this, case closed.

This eyepiece arrived very dirty with oily finger prints all over the lenses and body. This is the only SVbony product that I was not happy with and returned, the many others SVbony I have ordered have been excellant.

I have a collection of fairly good 82 degree eyepieces (Mead 5000 UWA), so why even bother with a zoom? This is just super convenient with your good scope and almost indispensable in the travel scope bag.I had a cheap 7-21 for a while and found myself bringing that along most times and leaving my better stuff at home. It was ok, but this particular zoom blows it away in every aspect except for size. It is rather large. The field of view is pretty darned good for a zoom, and its almost parfocal - only needing slight adjustments between the zoom range. The eye relief is just amazing. I love this zoom. This pairs almost perfectly with an UFF 24mm eyepiece. It is a similar size and has similar comfort. It's the only thing needed to get those maximum FOV views the zoom will not provide you.I had my eye on the Badder zoom for a long time, but never pulled the trigger due to cost. Im not sure why I waited so long. I have no interest in the improvement of FOV of the Badder, that problem is solved by packing a 32mm plossl or 24mm 68deg.

Optics seem good, but was not able to change power levels without removing from telescope, which kind of defeats the purpose.

It takes a little practice at 1st and the lens needs to be snug in the holder, but once you get the hang of it, it's much easier than changing lenses and you can zoom right in before the object moves. Pretty happy with its performance.

SVBONY has some really good products and this is one of them. There is a video on YT comparing this to a $300 Baader 8-24 zoom and this one is 95% of that at less than 1/4th of the price. This along with a good quality 2x Barlow are the only ones I need now. Have a high quality dual ED 5mm wide angle EP that I use for that rare occasions needing such high power. But anyone looking to have a quality start up in this field, I recommend this highly. Mind you this is a big and heavy EP and make sure your 90 diagonal and other accessories , tripod , mount etc are upto the task. Otherwise go with SVBONY SV135 7-21 mm which is smaller and lighter

Finally decide to take a close look at the product, (sky has not been conducive to any sky-viewing lately) as I just purchased another telescope eyepice that came in yesterday and was defective. On close inspection I found a scratch, smudge, or a couple of inperfections in the lower lense of the eyepice. Frustrating as I really like the product. I think there is a lot of value in it. But unfurtunately I have to return it.

I am enjoying this eyepiece and the ease of seeing, due to the sizeable eye relief. The undercut is great to safely hold the eyepiece. I like the soft edges on the raisable eyecup. If I wore glasses, it would help protect my lenses. Since I do not wear glasses, I raise it to keep the eyepiece clean and help hide the ambient light from my eye. I view my telescope in a metro environment, so the eyecup helps reduce the light pollution leaking around the edges. I pair this with a 2x shorty Barlow. I need to get a better quality Barlow, but that is not the fault of this product! I recommend buying this adjustable eyepiece.

Wow, I thought it was a regular sized 1.25" eyepiece, but it's much bigger. Nice images and clear. Easy to use, but a little heavy. Seems pretty solid.
