This sounds very good. I use it with 2 12" subwoofers that I cut off at about 40 Hz, because these drop off at about 27 Hz. I recommend a little "toe in". Give it some room if you have a wall behind it, because the ports are on the back.

Just replaced my towers and these sound so much better. Much better lows and crisp highs, and the vocals are super clear. I mainly bought these cause I wasn't happy with my old speakers when listening to music. The old ones were fine for movies but not great for music couldn't get the lows out of them. But these definitely gets them.

Excellent sound quality. I moved the bookshelves to the rear and what a difference! Yes, there are more expensive towers but feel like these exceeded expectations.

It was very close between the Prime Pinnacle and the Wharfedale EVO. My room is a bit of a challenge as it's taller room (14 feet in the middle) than most listening rooms. It's the only option so it's what I had to go with. The speakers are paired with the YAMAHA A-S801BL Natural Sound amplifier. The only con that I can think of is the low midrange response at times on flac and HD files. I added some warmth with plus 1 db at the 300 hz and 600 hz range. The system plays vinyl exceptionally well. These are a great price point for what you are getting. Highly recommended for any environment except for extremely tiny quarters. In that environment you're looking for bookshelf speakers anyway.

I am the proud owner of a rather large vintage stereo system. I decided to try out some new tower speakers, but frankly I didn't have high expectations. It seems most modern sound systems just can't produce the exceptional sound I have come to expect from high-end ~1979 - 1980 monster stereo equipment. Most modern day towers under $1,000 are for TV's - they simply are not good enough for hi-fidelity stereo systems. They all seem to be either weak in certain frequencies or brash or lack clarity. They are fine for most people watching a movie, but listening to detailed music is another matter. When I first hooked up the Prime Pinnacle I was startled to find the quality and dynamic range of sound it produces. I had to play around with the distance from the wall and such to "fine tune" the bass but the Pinnacles are just stunningly good. Exceptional clarity in all the ranges and a pretty good 'tight' low end as well (my vintage speakers produce a lower frequency bass but the mixture of the speakers is just perfect).I have been studying any information I can get on how the heck these speakers work so well, and all I can say is the quality of build is exceptional, and for the price simply unbeatable. I am very relived and happy with this purchase as my original expectations were fairly low. If I ever need new speakers or want to replace older ones I know what brand I am picking - SVS.The Pinnacles are not setup for use as bi-amped speakers - there is only one set of speaker terminals and the crossover network is all connected internally. The speaker terminals accept several types of leads - wire, lugs, or banana plugs. There are no external fuses or reset switches, nor any switch for changing the phase (which you can do by reversing the speaker lead wires if you need to). The cabinet is simple on the outside, but very complex inside with all sorts of bracing and three separate internal spaces. The front cover pulls right off using 6 built-in retainer clips. There are 3 x 6.5 inch woofers, a mid-range driver, and a 1inch tweeter. The cabinet contains 3 separate ports in the back so getting the distance to the wall correct is important and something you just have to experiment with. The speaker is listed as 8 ohms, but 6 ohms seems closer to the mark given the impedance curve. The ligature says you can run these with 20 watts, but I would recommend a beefier system than that to get the clean non-distorted sound these are capable of producing (it will depend a lot on how loud you drive them). My only "wish" is that they had more cabinet colors available like cherry wood. These only come in back Ash or shiny black finish. These are extremely good tower speakers and especially at the price.

The speakers arrived on time and were packaged in a way that prevented damage. I purchased these to connect to a yamaha rn803 receiver. At first I was disappointed in the sound of the speakers until I read the enclosed document that discussed proper placement. I gave the speakers a 7 day break in period before I cranked up the volume. At a lower volume the speakers are clear and precise in their sound. But man they come to life when added volume is applied. I am not sure these speakers would be a good fit for a small room. These are not bright sounding speakers. But the base and midrange along with the laid back highs make them a speaker I can listen to for hours on end. There are plenty of audiophile reviews on the internet and I agree with most of them on the performance of the SVS pinnacle towers. Great job SVS.

Replaced a pair of B&Ws (similar size and cost) with these and found them to be an improvement in mids and bass while maintaining the treble quality of the B&Ws. Perfect for my very large room combined with a sub. I planned to use them primarily for movies and TV, but they want to make me listen to music all the time now.If you have a small or medium room you could certainly get away with no sub, but a large room you’ll want one for both impact in movies and bass in music. If you have kids you may want to consider outriggers as the feet are directly under the speakers.

They pound, they have great audio dispersion and clarity. I listen to all ranges of music from EDM, Country, Rock, Pop...etc They are driven with a Yamaha RX-V2085 in a 2 speaker configuration and will soon be in my home theater. The space they play in is 17'W x 15'L x 7.5'HThey are beautifully designed, and look absolutely amazing in the piano finish. The finish is flawless, and all of the components were well selected and balanced. The terminal cup on the back is complete garbage, it functions, but for this caliber speaker, they should be a little fancier. You cannot go wrong with these speakers.
