Looking for an alternative to pucks for your off-ice practices?
Decades ago, hockey players would use golf balls to practice their stickhandling off the ice. The problem is that these balls tend to bounce around too much, making drills and practices rather difficult and frustrating.
Fortunately, you don't have to suffer the same problems as your hockey predecessors did. There is now a much better option than golf balls, and it works exceptionally well as an alternative to ice hockey pucks when it comes to off-ice training.
Improve your stickhandling by training with the Ace Hockey Swedish Stickhandling Balls!
Our wooden hockey training ball offers you a feeling that’s quite similar to training with an actual puck in the rink. It's designed to move and react to hits in the same way that an ice hockey puck does.
You'll notice that our training balls are much lighter than actual ice hockey pucks. This is actually ideal, as training with a light ball lets you practice quick dribbling and quick movements - skills that you can carry back to the ice come game time!
Another thing about our Swedish stickhandling balls is that they don’t bounce around as much as golf balls do. The wooden material offers excellent cushioning with each impact so they're much easier to control.
Still not convinced? Here are more details about our hockey training ball to help you decide:
✅ A great addition to other Ace Hockey products

The hardwood stickhandling balls are an excellent training tool for any hockey player looking to improve their skills! The solid construction and smooth finish make them glide effortlessly on the surface, providing a real feel of the puck during stickhandling drills. They’re the perfect size for practicing quick hands, and the weight is just right to help build strength and coordination. I love how durable they are—these balls hold up well to repetitive use, whether indoors or outdoors.

These wooden stick-handling balls are great for hockey players to use for practicing their shots. My nephews love using these in their basement while on roller blades. These wooden balls are a super well made quality product. They can withstand so many hits against a concrete brick wall. The only thing they can't withstand is a dog chewing on it. I recommend these wooden stick-handling balls to anyone with hockey players in the house.

My son loves these for his stick-handling drills. They are extremely smooth and dense with a really nice feel to them. Once you get your stick on them, you'll know what I mean. This 12-pack is a GREAT value, too. My son prefers these over the street hockey style plastic balls (we have many of those). Definitely recommend!

Sounds odd to use hockey balls to improve stickhandling skills, but they do work for that! These are a good size and heft.I tend to use these while I'm on a balance board (one of those fancy Vew-Do boards) to work on shifting my weight quickly for shooting. Satisfying to shoot a ball across the room while doing that.Big fan of these. Would buy again if needed (if I lose them all!).

I know these were made to be able to practice ice hockey skills, but they are also perfect for various crafts. Years ago, I saw some directions for using empty glass bottles, fairy lights, some cheese cloth, starch, and foam balls, (for heads). Some friends and I have been saving glass bottles from various sources including wine bottles and salad dressing bottles. I really love the character of the wood balls far more than foam balls. I also like that I can ‘stain’ the wood balls so that we can have a choir of wonderful, multiethnic looking angels this year.

These stickhandling balls are made of a nice, solid wood and sanded smooth. I’ve heard they work wonders for players looking to get some extra practice at home with their stick handling skills. They replace a puck when you’re not on the ice and allow for practice in the garage, driveway or even inside if you have a safe place to practice.

These were smooth and perfect for a wood burning project. My kids and their teammates love to stick handle with these.
