About this item

  • Enhanced Safety During Cutting: Keep your fingers away from the miter saw, especially when working on small pieces where the material can jump up and your hand can get caught in the blade or otherwise injured, so you need to find a way to hold the material tightly to the blade
  • Increased Efficiency and Comfort: the different designs of the two ends of the stick allow for a wider range of uses, The two prongs ends are used to press down on small pieces of wood, and the single prong end is used to clean up some wood debris
  • Improved Cut Accuracy: Using a hold-down stick ensures that the wood remains stable and does not shift during cutting, leading to more accurate and precise cuts. This stability is particularly important for repetitive cuts or when working with smaller pieces of wood that are harder to control
  • Special design: Our hold down sticks feature an ergonomic easy-to-grip handle that is safe, easy to handle, with a natural feel in the hand, and the high-strength material makes it more durable
  • Upgraded rubber feet: Upgraded rubber feet are stronger and more durable and will not fall off, Three rubber feet on the sticks for a firmer grip on the wood
  • Satisfied guarantee: For any reason you are not satisfied with your purchase, please feel free to contact us, no questions asked.

I love this, my husband is sight impaired and it makes me feel better when he has to get his hand close to the blade.

This hold down stick is useful for cutting small parts more safely. The one small issue I had with it is that the little rubber feet that help keep it from slipping can be pulled out a little too easily. For example, if your kid opens the box and asks what the heck this thing is, don't tell them it's a back scratcher and immediately start scratching your back with it. The feet will pop out and roll under the table. I found them eventually and they haven't fallen out again yet. lolol.

This Swess Miter Saw Hold Down Stick, Push Sticks for Miter Saw, Miter Saw Woodworking Tools is a nice extra safety accessory item to have in the shop. It does what it was designed to do but it certainly works better if you have extension tables on your miter saw so you can hold the tool and the work piece more securely. It is nice that it has a single sided foot for very thin pieces of wood and a double footed side for wider pieces. It does give you much more piece of mind when nipping off a little sliver from a tiny piece of molding. After reading some other reviews about the rubber feet falling out I removed mine and glued them back in with some c a glue before it became an issue. After all, the extra safety this tool provides is worth the minor hassles.

These are handy when you need to hold something down on your miter saw that is really too small to safely cut. We have all been there where we need to get that awkward cut on a smaller piece of wood and your fingers are just a little too close to the blade for comfort. By using this stick you can get your fingers away from the blade and keep them attached to your body.

This hold-down stick would be most helpful for a miter saw that's installed in a long table that serves as extension wings. Due to its length, one end will generally be off the surface of the saw, so it will work best if that can be on an extension wing of some sort. It comes with small rubber pads for the tips, and these help it hold the workpiece without slipping. But when mine arrived, two of the four pad had fallen out; it might be helpful to glue them in place to prevent them from being lost. In terms of safety, the stick will help the user keep their hands a safer distance from the blade. This will work to varying degrees depending on the size and shape of the workpiece. My main criticism of this product is that its curved shape flexes, and that causes it to change length as pressure is applied. I measured the amount of movement at the working end when I applied firm pressure, and it moved the small workpiece about 1/16". For precision work like trim carpentry, this could be a major problem since the workpiece would potentially be cut 1/16" shorter than intended. I can think of a few ways to mitigate this problem:1. Use the hold-down stick parallel to the cut instead of perpendicular to it. Held this way, the lengthening will tend to push the workpiece into the saw's fence, which means it shouldn't move at all. This won't work for all situations, but should minimize the accuracy problem from the lengthening.2. Apply consistent pressure when positioning the workpiece and cutting it. This will be difficult, but to the extent you can do it, it will minimize the amount of movement.3. Remove the rubber pads on the end of the stick that is furthest from the saw blade so that the lengthening effect tends to be on that end and doesn't tend to move the workpiece. Actually, putting that far end on something slightly slippery like wax paper might work even better.Overall, I consider this product to be a good idea, but it would need to be significantly stiffer to avoid affecting cut accuracy.

Rubber pads fall off at little provocation. I’m going to try to glue them in place with silicone cement as a fix.

This is a great hold down stick for a miter saw. I really like having my left hand farther away from the blade!. It has a stiff plastic body and soft pads on each end which grip the wood. If you have the saw at 45 degrees to the left, the prongs may not fit close to the blade, but the narrow end will. I wish the stick was a little shorter for when I want to store it, but that's minor.

This is a direct copy of the 10 Million Dollar Stick that FastCap sells. It’s also about $5 bucks less to get the genuine thing from FastCap.Regardless of of it’s a knock off or not, the original design is excellent. It allows you to safely hold material in place while using a miter saw without getting your fingers dangerously close. It’s a no brainer for anyone who has a miter saw to have one of these. Save your fingers.
