Ordered this item and it came in used and damaged / scared. the replacement came in the same way. The shaft has scars where it had been inserted into base and removed. The shaft will not fit in a swivl-eze 1.77 base as shown in photo.

Item works well and is solid but has a different locking style than most bases of this style. If you notice the latch is on the side and not coming out of the bottom as most bases of this style. It stays in the base perfectly fine and is a good snug fit but still stays removable. Only time will tell how long the cylinder holds and does not creek. So far its great.

The plastic piece that snaps into the base is junk, it broke about 45 minutes after being on the water. I actually prefer it without that piece anyway, and it's replaceable if I really wanted to replace it. I would get another one if and when the chance arises.
