Bought to replace my Summons valve that had a 2009 TA-10 cartridge. The to to take the valve out pretty much strips the cold water seat. That's not the problem I have with this kit though as the stripping of the seat seems pretty normal. First the observations.The screw holding on the hot water gasket of the TA-10 is larger than the 2009 OEM Summons version. The gasket is also pretty long, not sure if that's standard on a new Symmons valve.The bigger issue comes down to closing everything up. The valve does not shut off without significant force. Summons suggest it's possible the body was damaged. In addition to the difficulty to shut it off, it would not mix properly and only get slightly warm.On returning the OEM 2009 TA-10 everything functioned properly. It shut off with ease and it mixed cold and hot as expected.I reached out for support and the only suggestion was to lubricant the gaskets and orings. That did not help in this situation. The last bit of support was too go look at YouTube without a reference to what I should watch. I did watch baby videos on trying to get this to with and it didn't.

This part just didn't work properly! Turns out the screw that was attached to the spindle assembly (from the manufacturer) was too large. Replaced the screw and now the water wasn't heating up enough! We ended up calling our plumber and he installed a part that actually works! Cost a few hundred dollars, but hey, it works!

Valve constantly weeped. I replaced everything and no change. Took it apart, double checked everything, reassembled, still no change. Called up Symmonds and they sent me the same parts and a superior tool set free of charge, changed everything out, and, amazingly, no leaking. I can't see anything wrong with the aftermarket parts, but they didn't work somehow.
