I got this not only for sighting in, but in hopes of using it and keeping my gun clamped while in a hunting blind. The clamp, itself, is pretty nice and does a good job of tightening down and holding the gun. The tripod I intended to use this with didn't work well, but I did find another. I think my only wish is that this had a ball allowing a bit more versatility and movement. Overall, though, I do like this - it is solidly made and works like a charm for helping me target shoot and sight in.

I bought this to be able to hold my 14lb custom 7prc. It holds it tight and opens wide enough to clamp on the wide forend of the stock or right by the action. It also clamps up small enough to hold my son’s skinny .243. It clamped directly into my Athlon tripod and makes for a darn sturdy rest. My son shot his buck off this setup and made the world of difference for a young hunter. I want to buy another tripod to have this as a dedicated set up. Would buy again in a heartbeat.
