I got this lock since it had 4 stars and a lot of reviews, but upon arrival and installation, I noticed that it wiggles off. I decided to return it and get a replacement thinking it was just defective. The new one arrived two days later and did the exact same thing we will write off. I have a 2017 Tacoma and in desperate need of security my tailgate this item is not secure at all. I do not recommend this item.

No instructions included sooo,Before you try to maneuver and bend it around you have to remove the plastic cover on the back side of your tailgate once it’s off it slips in easily the thing you might encounter is a small plastic tab that is holding in the plastic coller you have to pop that off in order for the lock to slip in

I bought this last year when my tailgate got stolen. I was not aware of how easy they were steal till it happened to me and I started looking into it. I got this lock to help and discourage thieves and it worked not once but twice in the last few weeks. They target tailgates because it’s fast and easy and this makes them have to work for it and they don’t.
