This probably isn't "scientifically accurate," but it's great to keep outside your window or in your garden to get a general idea of the temperature. I bought the red and keep it in the shade and it's kept its color well for a couple of years now. I love glancing outside to see the temp.

I got it for the many color choices. I wanted a red one. We had to adjust the temperature on it. Hung it up and am happy that it works. The only problem is that it is really cheap looking. This is really flimsy. If it falls on the patio floor, it will bust up. I would have been happy paying more for a better-quality, red thermometer. Could not find one that was this size and red.

ran it side by side with 2 digital temp sensors for a few weeks and it was close enough - just seemed to be off by more than degree or 2 sometimes from the other 2 sensors - which usually were off by under a degree from each other.Had (unreasonably) high hopes as it was a Taylor brand For its main purpose of allowing me to point at the wall and complain about the HVAC design in my office area it works very well.
