"Click-Clack." It's the iconic sound of two Tegu Blocks coming together. Tegu has reinvented the wooden block in a way that brings new life to a favored classic. By safely embedding magnets into each piece, Tegu Blocks become curiously attractive for both kids and kids at heart. Defy gravity and push your imagination in ways never before possible. No instruction manuals or electronics; just toys that demand imagination and inspire limitless creativity across all ages. Open-ended play is endangered, but we're bringing it back. Created with beautiful Honduran hardwoods and safe water-based finishes, these blocks have proven wildly addictive for kids (and kids at heart) and will encourage the simple joy of creating for generations. This set includes 14 blocks in five shapes: 2 Medium Columns, 4 Short Planks, 4 Long Planks, 2 Cubes and 2 Parallelograms. Tegu blocks come packaged in a beautifully designed box large and rigid enough to store the blocks for many years to come. Also, don't miss out on some really fun factoids about the blocks and their origin on the inside of each package. Each set also includes The Tegu Story -- a booklet containing various building ideas and information about Tegu's social and environmental initiatives. There is something magical about watching a child's imagination unfold. The curiosity. The ingenuity. The creativity. Even more exciting is creating a product that unlocks a child's mind. We exist to create experiences that captivate children in safe, natural and innovative ways. At Tegu, this creativity also meets responsibility. Through socially responsible business practices and humanitarian efforts, we are dedicated to helping the Honduran community with reforestation, education and social outreach initiatives.

This unique, novel discovery toy is fabulous for a broad age range of children. The smoothness of the blocks, impeccable paint job, seamless connections hiding the magnets, demonstrates the terrific craftsmanship of Tegu. I love the story of Tegu (Tegucigalpa), as my grandfather lived in Honduras for many years. I originally found these blocks at a special toy store in Hot Springs and bought them for the science museum I work for. I bought this pack for my grand nephew for Christmas, and he was so absorbed with the kit that he didn’t care to open any more gifts. Children will learn about physical sciences without even knowing it. I saw a similar looking product that costs less, but the paint job looked blobby and I want to support Tegu, the original creators.

Got this as a gift for my nephews. They love to build things out of their imaginations and Tegu blocks have been great in helping them do this. They build trains, airplanes, dinosaur homes, etc. with this and it can go on all day. Best part is it entertains them enough to forget about tv and gadgets. The magnets are perfect although not all sides have it So they get to be more creative in bringing their “masterpieces” together. It is a toy that brings together different ages and you have their mommy chiming in too every once in awhile.

I am in love with these blocks!I bought them for my daughter who is 1 hoping they could be something she can enjoy for years to come. I'm so glad i went with these and not legos. They are just so much more athstetically pleasing. They are expensive but i actually don't mind paying more because this company is amazing! They plant 100 trees for every one the cut.One word of caution though. If you have a dog be sure to keep them out of its reach as they can easily chew them up and expose the embedded magnets putting them and your child in danger. I made this mistake but fortunately the company were quick to respond and even sent me replacement free of charge.

Vielen Dank...

Enjoyed by 8 months old baby all the way up to 13 year old step son. 3 year old has really got the hang of the magnets now, 8 mo is fascinated by the blocks sticking together and pulling apart, 13 yo and 9 yo can build some really cool imaginative stuff. Really good investment, will be played with and added to for years to come. Only downside is that the paint can rub off on the corners of the blocks so if you think this would be an issue I'd go for a natural set. Personally it makes them feel loved to me and doesn't bother me at all. Also great eco credentials (check out Tegu's back story).

Wow! Me and the dad play with it just as much as our one year old who keeps on putting the magnets everywhere in the house possible. Great quality, beautifully made, pretty colours (went for JUNGLE) and made with love and attention. Recommended!

Tegu blocks are a must-have for toddlers and adults alike. Yes, they are pricey, but they are worth every penny, nickel, and dime spent. Plus, the company itself is built upon a great initiative. My children and I enjoy quality one-to-one time with just this one set. It encourages imaginative play, and helps with math and science! It's quality craftsmanship, bright colors, easy for small hands, and a great toy to tote around. We enjoy blocks very much and own a good number (200+) of Melissa & Doug blocks. These are much smaller in size and easy to throw into a jacket pocket, lunch bag, or diaper bag for a quick on-the-go trip. The best part is that they're magnetic, which makes gathering the bunch quick and easy. We keep them on our dining table that we jokingly call "table of plenty" because we do everything on it: meals, art, school work, etc. So, while helping one child with school work, I use these to keep our toddler busy. Plus, it's fun science for my kindergartener to discover the many things that are magnetic! We're set on purchasing more and might even end up having to purchase a case. I have to say that this alone is a perfect gift for anyone from baby to adult.

These are such great blocks! I love the beautiful colors. They're smooth and weighted perfectly for little hands. This 14 piece set is a great starter-set. I bought these for my nephews to see if they would play with them. My nephews need some encouragement to be creative and with the aid of the Tegu wheel set my oldest nephew (who's 4) absolutely loved them! The adults played with them just as much as the kids did.The one thing to note is that the long, rectangular blocks do not have any magnets on the long sides, only on square end. This makes some construction ideas void. The magnets themselves are great. They are just strong enough to stay firmly in place, but not too weak as to fall apart. They don't snap in place with force which is a great feature to avoid pinched fingers! If you're looking for some educational, fun and beautiful toys for kids (or adults) then consider these!

Tegu's 14 piece set of magnetic wooden blocks is a good introductory set to a terrific (if expensive) toy. Included are two cubes, two pillars, two long flats, two short flats, and two angled blocks. This gives it a bit more variety to experiment with than some of their similarly-sized and -priced sets. As with any type of block, the more blocks you have the more you can do with them, and this is especially true of Tegu which, thanks to their relatively small size and the magic of their magnets, is just begging to be built UP and OUT! (They also work amazingly well on a magnet board.) For blocks, I usually go for natural wood, but for Tegu I like their tinted blocks best because the color adds a little spice while still allowing the lovely natural grain of the wood to show through (unlike with painted blocks). One last thing to love: Tegu's commitment to fair trade and sustainability, a learning opportunity for our children in its own right!

The Tegu blocks are very nice, but they could be better in terms of the number of ways they can be connected. The largest blocks only have a single magnet in each end for example, so there's no way to connect something along the length. The magnetic strength is good, but often won't keep pieces from rotating under their own weight, which again slightly limits what you can build with them.Otherwise they're great, feel and look good, and make a great toy for kids or even ans an "executive desk toy" to give you something to occupy your hands when on the phone or thinking. The 14 piece set is the best starter set in my opinion. It has enough pieces to do non-trivial things, and it's still a very reasonable price. The slightly cheaper "pocket" sets are cute, and come with a case, but really don't give you enough block combinations. For a bit more you can get this set instead.G.
