I bought these to replace some that I had broken over the years. I use them all the time, to steam vegetables or make potatoes and cheese. They are great for eggs as well.

I love this little stoneware microwave pot. Included was one stone wave pot with lid, and an instructional, recipe booklet. I use it mostly for cooking eggs. I had a plastic microwave egg cooker that I used to use. I have had to keep replacing them because they break over time. The last time it broke I decided to look for an alternative. I found this and figured it would be more durable. The idea that you can prepare many other things in this is definitely a plus. It also comes with a recipe book. I have a toddler, and he eats a scrambled egg every morning for breakfast. Cooking omelets are also easy. My husband works nights so when he wakes for work at 2pm he wants a hearty breakfast. I played with the times and I have listed them below. These times work well for my microwave. I also decided to try the apple desert, I modified it a little. It came out well and I had to make everyone a serving. Everyone really liked it also. This is the best microwave egg cooker I have ever owned. Recipes were cooked using a 900 watt microwave.Single Scrambled Egg* One egg* one splash of milkWhisk well, cook 1 minute. Makes a nice textured moist scrambled egg. For 2 eggs cook 1.30 minutes.2 Egg Loaded omelet* 2 eggs* cheese, sausage, mushrooms, onions, ham, whatever you want.* Top with salsa or ketchup (optional)Whisk eggs well, mix in other ingredients. Load it up with whatever you want. Cook 3 minutes. This is good topped salsa or ketchup.Apple Crisp (My way)* One cored and sliced apple.* 1 tbs brown sugar (or more)* 1 small slither of butter* A nice generous dash if cinnamon* crushed golden gram cereal or gram crackers. (topping)Prepare apple, I slice thinly, cook 30 sec. Remove and drain liquid. Mix in, butter, sugar and cinnamon. Cook 1 minute. Top with gram crackers.I hope these recipes help. I modified the ones in the book for my tastes and microwave. Most of all experiment and have fun. My only problem now is not owning more than one of these.

I purchased this Stone Wave microwavable cooker because I heard good things about thier ease of use from a Hungry Girl newsletter. The box contained one cooker (made in China), which consists of a pot with handle and a lid that has a hole in the top. Also in the box were some papers that warn of the basics (e.g., don't touch hot cookware) and a small cookbook with "5 minutes or less" recipes.I do not like to cook-- more specifically, I do not appreciate how much time daily one has to spend in the kitchen to have homecooked "healthy" meals...so I tend to test out new gadgets that speed up or make this process easier. Typically, I find them lacking, but this Stone Wave cooker has impressed me so far!-----Recipes-----Omelet-- I made this following directions to the letter and it turned out beautifully! I used egg white substitute, ham, green peppers, mushrooms and cheese. Yum!Apple Crisp--I cut the apples up a bit too small (called for 8-10 wedges from one apple) so when I stirred the ingredients the apples smashed up a bit, but it was ever-so delicious! I also tried this recipe with a very-ripe pear I needed to use. It turned out wonderfully!Shrimp Scampi--I used eight large-to-jumbo shrimp (recipe calls for 12 large) and it turned out perfectly, though I did add 30 sec to the timing to make sure the shrimp were done (I tend to over-cook meats...). So tasty, you'd think I spent half an hour sateeing and getting the aromas just right-- but it was done in minutes, all in th microwave!Loaded Baked Potato--I followed the recipe and it was delicious!My husband actually enjoys cooking, so he usually is not into gadgets that un-chain you from the kitchen (in other words, he LIKES to stand and stir/flip/check food). He was impressed because we made dinner in 20 minutes tonight (for X-mas, I got him the T-Fal OptiGrill) which consisted of steaks (OptiGrill), green beans (stovetop), and the loaded baked potato (Stone Wave). The beans took longest, so he was impressed!Cleanup--So far, I have hand-washed the Stone Wave pots with standard dishsoap within 15 min of using them in the microwave, so I cannot speak to any practicality of tossing them in the dishwasher. But its been super-easy so far and I look forward to getting a lot of use out of them!Considerations--The recipe booklet indicates that if more than one Stone Wave dish is used at a time in the microwave, adjust for more time. Because all of the recipes require under a few minutes in the microwave, I have cooked them individually, rather than figure out HOW much time to add. The lid does get hot, so do be careful. There is much commentary on the extra paper about avoiding burns.Summary:I have tried several recipes and so far have been impressed with how the foods look and taste (!) in such a very short amount of time. I am quite satisfied with my purchase and plan to use them often...and likely will tell my friends and coworkers about these neat little stone cooking magicians!

I ordered this thing and was very skeptical because of some of the reviews. Let's start by saying it is not magical. It is a glazed stoneware soup crock with a hole in the lid. That's it! It holds 1 cup with about 1/2" of space at the top. It is no more "non-stick" than the interior of a crock pot. Does it work? YES Will I return it? NO I have made several of the included recipes including poached eggs, baked apple crisp, and chocolate soufflé. All came out perfect! Rinse with hot water, wipe it clean and you're done. It is also PERFECT for heating one serving left overs. One reviewer stated it was way too small. It's not made to cook Sunday dinner, just one serving. Follow the recipes and it does what it claims it will do. When I first received it, I boiled some water in it to "sterilize" it and left it in the microwave for a couple of minutes. The handle did get hot but I guess that's to be expected. Keep a couple of pot holders close by when handling, especially when removing the lid as the instructions indicate. It's a great little product, especially for one person. I only hope someone will post more recipes. Now, get one and make some Eggs Benedict!
