I just got this telescope and took it out of the box. It is really dirty. 😩 I got really disappointed. I just don’t know if I should check the telescope or just send it back now.

The setup was very simple and other then focusing the scope in, I had it setup in under 15 minutes. And I was amazed at watching the deer about a better then a half in back of my house. Can't even explain about what it was like looking at the moon close up. Only issue I found is that the camera is too heavy for the telescope. My phone and holder weights out at 10.6oz and no matter what good the telescope is set, it will not hold it. Other then that, it's a great buy

Kids love to talk about the heavens and they are naturally curious. I have had fun with my kids, and now my grand kids looking at the night sky with and without my telescope and we have many great memories from doing so, it is great "quality" time. One of the more difficult things for kids is looking through the eyepiece without touching the scope. Sometimes they are not tall enough to see or they are rough with the scope. They do not understand the delicate need for focus and to remain on target and they tend to like to hold on to something like the scope when viewing which knocks it off target frequently. The camera removes that impediment and it is much more enjoyable for them because you can also save the images with the camera in the phone. The scope itself is average and neither good or bad, but it is a great value and an excellent place to start young sky watchers. I would not recommend it for more serious users, and I think the price fairly represents that fact. But it is well worth the asking price!

I was able to put this together using the instructions which were very detailed. However I had a lot of trouble finding items in the viewer, the biggest issue being unable to turn the telescope on the tripod to the correct angle the knobs got in the way. When I did finally find the moon it was blurry and not detailed no matter which way I adjusted. I was a little disappointed. Some of this may just be my inexperience but I have used telescopes before and not had the above issues of course I did have some help. Also the item is not as durable as I expected. I somehow managed to crack one of the plastic legs of the tripod. It still works but I must be very careful to not damage it further. There are mutiple eye pieces to adjust magnification for viewing, making it fairly versatile. I had originally gotten this item for my kids that are elementary school aged, but it was unexpectedly harder to operate than expected. I would say this item is more for teen, adults, and supervised children. This item was definately inexpensive and I am hopeful with further exploration that I will have better results.

Thus will be a Christmas present for our granddaughter so hopefully she loves it. She loves to go look at the stars and the moon.
