Parts all fit accordingly but unit will not function with the off brand part. Handle does not turn after installing the gear, it doesnt fit and jams the handle.

I had previously ordered a cheaper set of replacement parts for an Edlund No.1 commercial can opener that was supposed to be a generic exact replacement. But they performed so poorly that the can opener wasn't even usable. But these genuine Edlund replacement parts (drive gear and cutting blade) worked great. They made the can opener perform just like new. Well worth the $13 more they cost than the worthless generic set.
