When my contractor wired my bathroom fan in my basement bathroom he wired it incorrectly. It works. It is safe, but it doesn’t allow for the use of a normal fan timer due to the lack of a neutral wire. You will often find this same situation in older homes. I honestly thought I was committed to using a plain old “on/off” switch forever. I had no idea that a “no neutral” device existed.I won’t say it changed my life, I mean hey, it’s just a timer switch, but it certainly did make my life better. I can now shower, walk away and not leave the bathroom fan running for 3 days. Seriously. Yes, I did that on a regular basis.Install is straightforward. As others have mentioned, it’s tight fit. To quote Sir Mix-a-Lot, “This baby got back”. If you keep the wire nuts (if any are present in the box) tucked carefully off to the side it will fit, I assure you. It’s just a tight squeeze. The most important thing to remember is the warmup period. The instructions tell you about this, but I suspect many of us utter that classic phrase: “I don’t need no stinkin’ instructions”. I understand. Bottom line: After installing and powering up give the switch a few minutes to charge the capacitor inside. After that (and every power outage) it should work like any other electronic timer. At $25 per switch plus a 10% discount coupon (at the time of my order) these switches are good value. I’m pleased. I would say that yes, I do recommend this product.

These are made is China with UL listed. Very easy to install and follow the instruction. Took me 10 mins for each and I am not even a handy lady. Remember to turn off the electricity main switch box before starting. I have installed 2 of them for the bathroom fan. Great for kids that always forget to turn off the fan and allow it to turn on and drawn all the heat or air condition out from the whole house. The timer count down is from 5 mins to 4 hours. The regular bathroom fan is around 12-25W. The limit of 800W for this one is even enough for a bathroom ceiling heater lamp. The LED light indicator makes it easy for me to see without turn on the light. The timer switch design is simple and elegant. It stop the problem if my kids leaving the fans running and save me a lot for my energy bill. I am 100% satisfied with these switches.

This is a nice bathroom fan timer switch. This one does NOT require the neutral wire so please be aware of that. The installation is relatively easy and standard if you have done this before. I tried the TG4 model before (the one with the wire) and just like before, I only wish there were more options for short timers (like 15 min options). This switch is UL certified, and it is absolutely necessary for me personally when it comes to anything hardwired in the house. I am happy to use it as long as it is certified. The unit is a bit bulky inside, so please make sure there is enough space for it.

This timer switch is perfect for use with bathroom fans, lights, ceiling fans or anything else that you wish to put a timer switch on.This switch has easy to install and as an added bonus, it does not require a neutral wire to operate, this makes it much more versatile when it comes to various wiring conditions. I will share the following points of acquired knowledge, this switch really does need a deep electrical box and also you must be aware of the need to give this switch a solid 2 minutes to "charge" before it will be operational feom the power shut off. After the power has been applied and the switch has done it's setup, it is instantaneous operation from there. The power up is ONLY required after power shutoff or after a power outage. The timer switch has a range of times options that can be set at the push of a dedicated button for each 5, 10, 30 and 60 minute as well as 2hr and 4 hr options. An LED indicator light with light up to show you which option is currently armed. There is also a simple, larger button to toggle power on and off for non timed use of the attached device.Overall construction is solid and attractive. All mounting hardware and face plate are provided in the box. Overall installation times was about 7 minutes. I possess minimal-moderate electrical wiring knowledge. Installation instructions are good enough. Not great but certainly not bad.I like this product and believe it to be a good option for those in the market for this sort of switch system.Recommended.

Perfect for certain homes where there are no neutral wires in the switch boxes. Install is simple as swapping switches. Great for in the bathroom to run exhaust fan with the range of times available. Works well in the house as there is no noise, no timer ticking like the old wind style timers. LED lights when button pressed but is not on all the item, could be an issue depending on use case. Switch is thick, screws secure well, overall nice quality for the price.

I use this with a ceiling mounted heater in two of my bathrooms. It is amazing. The product allows me to select a timeframe and "set and forget" my heater. My wife is constantly cold, so she loves the ability to use this switch, hop in the bath or shower and be warm for a preestablished time. The switches are easy to install, look great and appear fairly rugged. I would have liked the switch to be a bit brighter white, so as to match my trim, stone work and shower. However, for what it is, the switch does its job well. While initially sceptical of relying on it as a timer, the switch has not failed me yet. It is a keeper!

TG 4-Hour Countdown Timer Switch, 5-10-30-60 Min, 2-4 Hour, for Bathroom Fans, Heaters, Lights, LED Indicator, 120VAC 800W, No Neutral Wire Required, UL Listed, Screwless Wall Plate, IvoryI got this to install in my garage for a ceiling vent I have in there. Installation was a pain in the butt due to incomplete directions. The directions don’t mention waiting 1-2 minutes for it to warm up after powering it on. I didn’t find out about this little feature until just before I was going to review it and looked closer at some of the pictures included on the listing.During installation, I got everything wired up, turned the power on and checked it before putting the switch fully in the wall. Everything worked. I turned the power off, installed the switch in the wall, turned the power back on, aaaaand nothing. It wouldn’t work. I turned the power off again, took it out, made sure all the wires were properly connected and tight. Turned the power back on to check it before putting it back in the wall and it worked. I turned the power off again, installed the switch, turned the power back on, aaaaand nothing. The third time, I took it out, checked all the wires, turned the power on and it worked. This time, I left the power on while I installed the switch back in the box and it kept working. It works as it should now. What I like:It has longer timers than my previous timer switch. The cover is nice, but I couldn’t use it because my box is slightly recessed and the cover wouldn’t snap on properly. What I don’t like:It was harder to install than it should have been. The light for the setting you’re on doesn’t stay on. It turns off after a few seconds then flashes once in a while. I would prefer if it was always on.You have to hold the “always on” button for 8 seconds to turn this feature on. It’s unnecessarily long. 3 or 4 seconds would be preferable.

These countdown time switches work as described (although, still unsure how one would run a sprinkler unless you have the sprinkler on a wall switch, not common) and it’s a straight-forward installation needing only a Philips head screw driver for both the switch and wall plate. As others have mentioned, it’s a beastly-sized unit and you’ll need some space in the box behind this switch in order to screw it correctly in place. The no neutral wire requirement worried me even but when installing these switches, in this case to control bathroom fans, it proved a needless worry since I didn’t encounter a neutral wire. If I had, I would have capped it off with a wire nut or added to any existing combined neutral wires.Operation is simple by either selecting the desired time or pressing the power button for 8 seconds to turn the switch on without the timer (press the power button again to turn it off).Overall, these are recommendable timer switches if you have a need for timed offs between 5min-4 hours.

I'm always thinking of improving things around the house.Often times I forget to turn off the bathroom fan. Then I thought I'd put this in! Until I actually opened the switch and saw it had a neutral available so I ordered the same switch with a neutral hook up. I knew.i had other locations I'd be using these at that didn't have a neutral. Either way as long as you have a ground wire you can use this switch. Easy to understand instructions. Easy to hook up if you've done this before and have a general understanding. It comes with all the screws and wall plate. Opperating the switch is as simple as pushing one.of the timer buttons and you're done. The next time you hit the big bottom switch it remembers the last setting till you hit a different preset. If you want to override the timer . Hold the big button for 8 seconds and it will stay on till you hit the big button again.Nice product!

I ordered this to control our bathroom fan. I also ordered a similar model that required a neutral wire in addition to the hot, load, and ground. I read some things about the two approaches, but they appear to function identically. The main button turns on the fan using whatever timer was used last. You can also press any of the timer buttons to reset to that delay. The main button will also turn off the fan. Pretty easy controller. There is a blue light on the main button and on the current timer button that flashes twice when activated, but they don't stay lit beyond that.Install was straightforward. The directions are clear, and this device has the newer style connections where you insert the wire into a hole and tighten the screw. Pretty easy and secure connections. But note that this is a large device, so there isn't a lot of room the the electrical box for wires and such if you have multiple switches of this size.My only complaint is I'd prefer a 60 min delay beyond the 30 min that this provides. I don't think the 1 min delay is necessary - it could've been replaced with the 60 minute delay. Regardless, it's a pretty functional fan control.
