I did keep the light as it was inside the cabin of my boat for a night light. If I hadn’t picked this up in warehouse deals for a bargain I would have returned it. The housing and the light are a cheap plastic. The “waterproof” switch has a plastic dust cover over it that will wear with marine time and usage.

I like the red/white toggle switch, and it seems durable enough. It's hard to install because of the way the light is structured.

As noted in some other reviews, this is some really bizarre design work. The light has no place for the wires to go when installing on a flat surface, and if you can't hollow out some space beneath it to accommodate them (difficult on the ceiling of a fiberglass boat) or get the mounting screws--which are apparently made of some Chinese silver colored butter and stripped out instantly--screwed in totally flush, you can't get the light module to snap into the housing. The white lights are bright, but really blue-white (I'd say around 7000K) and harsh. The red light is pleasant and works fairly well, but do yourself a favor and find a different option. I would return the item but destroyed it trying to mount the thing. Live and learn.

need good quality Stainless Steel screws that can self drill to mount. With the included screws it was impossible to drill the holes, I simply replace those with high quality SST and voila, screws in seconds.

Purchased 4 white/red led lights for front cabin renovation in my trawler. Installed easy and provides excellent light for general purposes (white) and night vision (red) since they are close to the navigation station. I plan to buy 8 more and finish the rest of the interior with these lights.

Nicely made small light. Good brightness for a small light. White color is pretty clean and not too bluish. Not warm whit however. Switch even has a waterproof cover over top. Red mode nice for night vision. Switch seems decently solid. Has four mounting holes. Screws included. All plastic .. nothing to rust or corrode. Good for small cabins, head, storage area. Mounts flush on surface. Only needs hole for wire.

Installed on pontoon boat on canopy structure over a table area. I wanted something that could get wet when the canopy was off and during outdoor storage of the boat. I also wanted something with red light. We spend nights sitting under the stars and need to see when at the table area. I have not verified, but the light is in epoxy to allow getting wet. The light switch is covered by a plastic cover glued on the edges to keep it dry (I don't think the switch is waterproof itself). I don't know how well the plastic cover will hold up, but not sure it will last too long before it falls off, gets cut by fingernails, or gets sliced in some way. It has four holes to secure the cover to the ceiling (screws included). The two wires are tinned with silver to reduce corrosion. Connect the two wires, secure it and your done. Installation (with boat wiring already in place) using weatherproof heat shrink butt connectors, drilling, testing, etc. took about 20 minutes to install.This is a really a great light and we are thinking of replacing one other light we have with this one. It is very bright for both write and red lights. The entire section of the 28ft boat is clearly lit (even in red). The definitions of objects with the red light seems extremely crisp (something I had not expected). Low power usage. I don't anticipate any problems with this light.The only two downsides of the light. The outside cover is hollow in the back to support hiding wires back there. If water comes from above, this will hold water. This problem exists with all covers I've seen. For my situation, if it become a problem, I'll drill some small holes to drain the water. The second issue is flush mounting the light. It works, but the wiring is tight and takes some work to get the wires pushed up and the light secured in the cover. Both are normal situations with almost all lights like this.
