These are cast aluminum. The casting mold is not the most exact thing. One of the sides is casted flat, the other is not exactly flat, more round like the top of a cupcake. I guess it is functional, but that metal looks super brittle...You also might need 5 degree washers for the bolts coming out-of the back of the boat. The nuts do not sit flush.I have no idea if the wedges will move under load, we will see...

Excellent quality product. easy to install, and gave me the added bowlift that I needed, without sacrificing the holeshot. Highly recommended for boats with too much transom angle.
