Lab coats are holding scientists back, and together we’re going to fix that. By listening to feedback from 1000+ scientists, we designed these white 100% cotton men's and women's lab coats to solve these frustrations so that you can finally feel professional, confident, and safe every time you suit up.
- The Lab Coat Project was featured in major science media outlets due to our innovative approach of crowdsourcing the design and crowdfunding the development. The problems we uncovered in our survey ran deep, and we knew we had to fix them. We shared our design progress to continue iterating - including testing the prototypes with 30 beta testers in real-world scenarios from chemistry labs to high school science classrooms.
- Most lab coats have a standard 3 pocket design with plastic buttons, bulky cuffs, and a V-shaped collar that leaves your chest exposed. These common lab coats are designed with medical doctors and healthcare workers in mind - not laboratory research. You need different features for safety and productivity, so every detail of these lab coats is built with the STEM workforce in mind. From quick-release steel snaps to long stretchy knit cuffs to a convertible up-down collar, these meet most lab safety standards for general chemistry and biology.

THE LOUIS MEN'S LAB COAT SIZING GUIDE
Please take time to measure to ensure a great fit!
Using a tape measure or a string and ruler, measure the circumference of your body with a big inhale, without pulling it tight. Wear your normal lab clothes and include those in your measurements.
- Choose the smallest size that accommodates all 3 of your measurements
- For a relaxed fit, go up one more size.
- The hidden belt can pull in the waist by up to 8 inches for a more tailored fit if there's extra room.
- The sleeve length measurements above follow the lower inseam from the armpit to the tip of the knit cuff.

HIDDEN ADJUSTABLE BELT
Use the stitched-in soft cotton belt to pull the waist in up to 8 inches to fit your figure. The extra fabric folds neatly at your sides so you can look professional and feel confident in your work.
DEDICATED UTENSIL SLOTS
Stay organized and on task with everything right where you need it. The smaller stitched slots help keep your tools from sliding out when you bend or remove your lab coat.
ZIPPERED SIDE VENTS
Those knobs can't touch you now! We added zippers to the side access vents so you can get to your inner pockets in a pinch without getting snagged by knobs and equipment when you walk.
BACK PLEAT: RANGE OF MOTION
This hidden back pleat opens up to two inches when you reach for those precursors in the back of the cabinet so your wrists stay protected and you stay comfy.

SOFT 100% COTTON TWILL
A proprietary weave of durable, tightly woven, medium-weight cotton twill for protection. The medium-thick American-grown cotton twill weave is extra dense and common failure points have reinforced stitching for extra durability and tear resistance. Finished with softening and stain-release non-chemical processes perfect for lab coats. It won't melt onto your skin like polyester.
LONG KNIT CUFFS
Soft rib-knit cotton cuffs gently hug your wrists to keep your skin protected as you reach for those chemicals in the back. Tapered forearm sleeves also help keep your lab coat out of your science.
QUICK-RELEASE SNAPS

I wear this as a physician. I love the cuffed sleeves. Be aware that this cost is very slim in the body. I got a small which fits me in the shoulders but buttoning it up is way too tight - and I am quite slim. I just ordered a medium because I do like the coat otherwise. One of the seams did tear a bit which is annoying because it was the perfect place to hang my pager.

Clearly engineered. Great quality. My size Large is a little on the snug side, so measure carefully, especially if you've got extra belly.

A bit expensive for a lab coat, but this is a case where you get what you pay for. I've used this coat daily for over a year now, and the snaps and seams are all in perfect condition. Even after exposure to acids, bases, and organic solvents, the thick cotton remains uncompromised, and I suspect will easily last a few more years.As someone with particularly broad shoulders, the features I appreciate the most are the pleated back and wrist cuffs, both of which prevent the sleeves from riding up and exposing my arms while working in the fume hood.Overall, this coat is a considerable step up from other lab coats I've used, in both quality of life features and longevity. I am eagerly awaiting the day the designers release a FR version.

I am using this for my college chemistry class and I can absolutely say it is the best out of everyone else’s. The fit is great and I love the elastic cuffs. It is actually comfortable to wear and doesn’t get hot at all. And I run pretty warm normally, so it’s great. It was wearable right out of the bag and no weird smell or scratchy material. The material is nice and thick and doesn’t have any thin areas that would show a cheap construction.I love all the pockets and the ability to raise the neck protection. Nobody else has that ability and it is awesome.I’m going down the engineering route and I will probably use this many times after school if I ever go into using chemicals for any project.Also make sure to measure yourself. After measuring myself, I was a perfect large.Can’t say enough good things, it’s great. I wish this coat showed up in front of all the other cheap ones.

I wanted a 100% cotton labcoat, and these guys provided. I've used cheaper lab coats made of polyester before and you can get very hot wearing them as they are not as breathable.Cotton is hydrophilic. Polyester's hydrophobic.So if you wear a polyester jacket it's similar to wearing a trash bag. But a cotton jacket will suck the moisture off of your body and help to ventilate your heat away from you.This quality is very important because this lab coat pretty much runs from neck to low shins.The cuff specifically is a very desirable trait. I actually started looking for a lab coats for cooking specifically with a cuff because I ended up with a pretty bad burn on my upper wrist area from oil splatter.Although I could have gotten gloves to wear, I couldn't help but think it could have been anywhere else on my body.Cotton is the best! I actually really like the color flare for neck protection. I thought it was a gimmick at first until I actually got splattered with oil on my neck today while testing it frying beef. I pop that baby up!

There's not much to add that isn’t already in the detailed descriptions. The 100% Cotton Twill is a huge upgrade from my old 80% polyester/20% cotton lab coat. This lab coat is definitely worth the money.
