This is perfect for when you want plain popcorn (no butter needed to pop). Best for small personal-sized amounts. I tested it out and 1/4 kernels for 2 mins works best on plain popcorn.

The popcorn popper was mediocre, and after about 6 sessions, bagan popping open during use. Not popping open because of popcorn pressure, just wouldn't stay closed sending popping kernels all over my microwave. Not worth the money even though its cheap.

I like this, but the cleaning can be awkward just due to the material. Good points are that it's a great size for 1 person, is faster in the microwave than a bag, and is sturdy enough to sit on the counter without falling over.Do stay with the microwave though, because it does pop really quickly- the microwave at work takes 75 seconds to complete, which is less than the 155 seconds for a bag.

I don’t get these bad reviews, and am so glad I trusted my instincts and ordered it! I live alone and wanted to be able to pop a small batch of popcorn in the microwave when I want to. This is perfect! I put in 2 tablespoons of butter, 2 tablespoons of kernels (trust me, that’s really about all it will hold), salt, and for my microwave it took 2:25 to pop. BTW, mine didn’t come with any instructions. Delicious, clean tasting, hot popcorn! Because the lid doesn’t latch, I put one of those plastic plate covers on top of it. It’s just enough to keep the popcorn from popping out, yet enough to let it open as it pops. I love this!!

I love this item. It's the perfect size for one serving and pops your corn in no time! Just a pat of butter and a handful of kernels and you are good! I did find that when I took it out of the microwave, I needed to carry it around with a towel because it was extremely hot. That didn't deter me one bit!
