I love this product. I own a scooter that has a weird handlebar like kind of square but round also and nothing fits but because of the way this is made this can fit on any handlebar any shape. It is an excellent product can be installed on anything, unlike all other handlebar extenders these can be put anywhere.

Veramente ottimo! Buon acquisto!

I bought this to elevate my headlights since I used to have a front mounted basket. I had a accident on the bike when I nearly ran a stop sign (there was a car crossing, so it was the car I saw and not the stop sign). I saw the car a little too late. I had a soda on my left hand so I couldn't brace my body on the handle bars properly. Coupled with the fact that I have the front brake lever on the right side instead of the left side.So I hit the front brakes and my body moved forward causing the bike to cart wheel over me. The basket was bent up and the mount broke for it.The bar extender was knocked loose, but after re-tightening it when I got home, it still worked as if nothing happend. The same couldn't be said for the basket. I could probably bend the basket back into shape, but the mount for it broke so I had to scrap that one. I only got scraped my arm a little and spilled my drink. So I got off lucky. Especially since I was going around 17MPH at the time! :PSo yep it's pretty durable and works great for the price. :D

Sadly this takes up more space then most devices due to the base . It also uses the screw to push against the bar where mounted taking out the slack from the band it is also threaded through which makes marks seen later on when you remove your equipment to sell the bike . Otherwise it was as promised . I would prefer longer bars one for 4 devices and the offset a inch or more longer . I was sorely disappointed by the footprint it took up as I had my computer on my handlebar offset post and when I put this on to mount two lights it took up so much room I could no longer mount there . I ended up making a bushing on the bar extender where the metal rod was and mounting it there so I did get 3 devices mounted but it isn't as aesthetically pleasing as I had hoped . Still functional and a good purchase . Could recommend with limitations and hope to find they make a 4 device one someday . Yes I need all those toys like a GPS , and Phone too centered with the lights . I have mirrors , bells and a horn at the left and right position where they should be taking up that space , with a basket down low :-) ! Ah bicycling in the 21st century . This is a good product just the base is big as you can see in the pictures it takes up way more room then a simple clamp from wherever you mount it . Also it does not conform to all bars only the round parts otherwise it mounts solid but looks sloppy as it is hard plastic and does not take the shape of what it is mating too . Metal to metal damages the bike finish . Still the best option out there I know of . I am buying again for another bike my first one is still solid and holding two headlights .

I got this bar extender to replace . The problem with the other extender was that it was not stable enough. The Topeak extender is a bit smaller, but it feels sturdier. The metal tape gripping mechanism is pretty much identical to the Minoura one. It works well, but it is a bit of a pain to put on properly. You have to make sure you got it on the correct hole (there are 3) for the size of your bar. When you tighten it the first time, it may feel secure, but if the grip slides on the bar under load, you may have to tighten it a bit more. That's what I did, and now I don't get any movements, even on the biggest bumps. The nice thing about this extender is the solid metal rod construction of the extension. It is very stiff, and produces no vibrations for me. The joint where the angle of the rod can be adjusted is made of metal, and one can tighten it securely without the fear of breaking a plastic part. That is one of the differences between this extender and the Minoura one. In Minoura, the joint is partially plastic, and tightening it gives a gradual feedback on the bolt as the plastic is tightened. On the Topeak extender, one can clearly feel when the bolt has pretty much reached the point of secure grip as the metal in the joint gives prompt and decisive feedback.I am very happy with the extender. I use it for my light at night and for my GPS during the day. Putting both on at the same time would exceed the maximum specified weight of accessories that one can put on the extender, but I am tempted to try it anyway.UPDATE:I have been using this product for a while now, and I can confirm my 5-star rating. It needed tightening up a couple of times, but it is very stable and reliable.

This thing is GREAT! I have a mountainbike with classic Kirtland Tour Packs. One of them is a bar bag.I had a hard time finding headlights that would be tall enough to shine over the bag, without glaring back in my face - the bag has a clear map-pocket on top.So I tried The Topeak Bar Extender.I had to fiddle with it, a little, to get it snugly onto the bar, but once I got it in place, even the low-profile lights I have are high enough. And I've even got room to mount my computer. Some folks might have a problem with the mount being hard to tighten, but I see No design flaw in the device. Not all handlebars (or other bars) are of the same girth. Some are narrower. Sometimes you also need a little more GRIP.I keep around an old tire tube - got a puncture that I couldn't seal, so I replaced the tube. But I KEPT the damaged tube (if you don't have one, hit the bike shop, and ask if they have an old dead tube they can part with).I cut a strip from the tube, cleaned off the powder, and wrapped it around the bar. Then I put the mount on top of my custom rolled rubber flanging. Fits snugly, and stays where I want it.And it works GREAT!Hmm... Now I just need to mount my coffee cup holder...
