About this item

  • [Brand Overview]Thermalright is a Taiwan brand with a history of over 20 years of development. It has a certain popularity in domestic and international markets and has a significant influence in the radiator market. We have been focusing on the research and development of computer accessories. The R&D product line includes: CPU coolers, case fans, thermal silicone pad, thermal paste, CPU fan controllers, mounting brackets and other goods.
  • [Double-sided heat sink] With high performance heat sink silicone film with good thermal conductivity, the SSD 2280 heasink cooling is laminated on both sides and combined with the aluminium combination, allows for optimum cooling performance.
  • [Aluminum Alloy Material] Aluminum alloy with anodized sandblasting process and anodized surface treatment greatly increases the heat dissipation area of the M.2 SSD cooler with 10°C-30°C (varies depending on the environment).
  • [Easy to Installation] Size: 70*24*13mm, the 2280 heatsink SSD cooler is designed with double-sided clips and comes with 4 screws for a tighter fit to the SSD and enhanced thermal conductivity, allowing for quick and easy installation and removal, combined with instructions and video tutorials for better installation.
  • [Wide Compatibility] Designed for desktop PC M.2 interface, this M.2 SSD heatsink works perfectly with M.2 2280 SSD cooling and is compatible with Samsung 990 Pro, 980 PRO, 850 EVO, 860 EVO, 960 EVO, 970 EVO, 950 PRO, 960 PRO, 970 PRO series M.2 SSDs without interfering with PCI-E slot devices.

Fit with no issues. Would buy again and keeps temps nice and stable.

These are fine heatsinks and they're well-made, but the thermal pads are too thin for some drives.I have a Kingston NV3 with a Phison controller, and the z-height of the controller chip is so much lower than the flash that the stock thermal pad cannot make contact with the controller at all. Obviously, this somewhat defeats the purpose of the heatsink.I was able to resolve the issue with thicker pads of course, and otherwise the heatsink is fine.It will easily outperform the various lightweight aluminum extrusions you can buy on Amazon--the ones that are held on with little wire clips or silicone rubber bands that sell in two or four packs for about what this thing costs--due to thermal mass and the flatness of the base alone. It doesn't have the fin area to match the performance of the larger Thermalright heatsinks with heatpipes and thin aluminum fin stacks in use cases where the drive is under high load for tens of minutes at a time, especially with a pcie 5.0 ssd, but that's a highly unusual use case and for most people the difference will be immaterial. If Thermalright had included thicker pads by default or as an extra in the box it'd rate 5 stars, but the thermal pad issue knocks it down to 3.

Easy application and decent results. Noticed my SSD was running a bit hot so I figured why not spend a little to extend its life. You may want to re-arrange the compound between the heat sink and your SSD, mine didn't seem to contact perfectly at first. Good value item for the peace of mind that my SSD is running a bit cooler.

Drops the temps, good price. Crucial p5 runs uncomfortably hot on PCIe gen 5 even though it is a gen 4 SSD. Moving slots increased it's speed a little I thinkk but temps jumped up to around 80c. Now with a heatsink it stays below 70 again. I have a micro atx case with not very much ventilation.

Reduced the temps on my ssd by 25C under load (80C to 55C). And will fit even if the slot is under the GPU.If you are facing temps issues do not hesitate to Buy

Before you install make sure your SSD will make contact with all of the thermal pad's surface. If both sides of the SSD are not in contact then you will loose efficiency in the heat wicking. When both sides are not in contact then you will have to do some DIY. What I did for both my WD SN850x and Samsung 970 Evo Plus is cut the half of the thermal pad that is not big enough out of the heatsink and cut out a 1mm thermal pad in its place. If you don't get what I am saying, checkout the guide "Stop your Samsung NVMe SSD from overheating and Thermal Throttling" by Electronics&Computers on YT. It is a short guide that gets to the point on it.

I did a lot of searching and researching before I chose this Heatsink, it was very easy to install. Esthetically looks clean and nice.

I was looking for a cheap SSD cooler for my PS5 and this one comes out to be one of the cheapest choices. However, the build quality is much better than some of the pricy ones and it works great.
