I got a new 4TB Lexar M.2 drive, and it was running about 15 degrees C higher than my other Crucial 2TB drives, even under no load - around 58-62C. I wasn't having any issues, but figured it can't hurt to keep it cooler. Added this, and while not a huge jump, it now hovers closer to 50 vs. 60. I'll take it! I also like that the screw holes are slightly oblong vertically, meaning you can add some pressure when assembling with the adhesive strips, and then snug down for a closer fit. Good fit and finish overall.

I bought this after reading the super positive reviews. Paired this with the WD SN850X 2TB.After first attaching the drive to this, i noticed that the both ends of the drive didn't make contact with the thermal pad at the top (see pic). So i thought it must be because of the sticker on the drive, removed it and still the same problem. Pressed really hard against the heat sink when i screwed it onto the m.2 drive but it didn't make any difference. Probably need a slightly thicker pad on the top side.I just installed this on to the motherboard as it is in a pci 3.0 port for testing. Initially stayed at mid 30s and climbed to 40 degrees while not doing anything and stays at that temperature. This is on a Asus Z390 Prime motherboard in an Meshroom S v2 case with front and top fans.Did a little test with Aida64 read speed benchmark and temp climbs to low 50s. Will test with Crystal disk later today and update the review. I'd say for the price, this is a really good heatsink.

These are awesome. Very reasonably priced and they definitely work. I ran some tests with them installed. They cooled my hottest SSD over 10 degrees Celsius. I like that they're low profile and fit under my large Thermalright CPU cooler.

I purchased this to use on a 2TB Adata Gammix S70 Blade Gen 4 NVMe drive I had purchased some time ago, which was idling around 56c. This heatsink, when combined with good thermal pads, dropped the SSDs' idle temps down to ~32c.One thing I will suggest is to not bother with the pre-installed thermal pad on the top part of the heatsink. Replace that with some good quality ones with high thermal conductivity, especially on the controller chip. You will need two different thickness pads, as the controller chip is generally shorter than the memory chips. In my use case, I used the Aairhut 20W/mK Thermal pads in 0.5mm and 1mm thicknesses. You will likely need to put a 1mm thick piece of pad on the back side of the SSD PCB beneath the controller chip, to ensure good contact with the heatsink on the top side.

This is an excellent heatsink for M.2 SSD's for very little money. The advantage over many others is that it sandwiches the SSD between metal halves with two silicone heat transfer pads. The two halves are secured with adjustable screws where you can get a nice snug fit for optimal heat transfer. This is much more reliable then the heatsinks that use rubber bands for attaching to the SSD.Thermalright knows heat transfer and offers quality products at reasonable prices. For $6 this is a "no brainer" and installation is super easy.
