It offers realistic gear-shifting feel with its detachable knob. The gear stick is compatible with real universal (automotive) knobs available at car parts stores and big-box retailers, and the two included shift-plates offer your choice of "H"-pattern (7+1) and Sequential (+/-) shifting. The internal mechanism features 100% metal construction with a metal gear stick and clamping system. H.E.A.R.T. “Hall Effect AccuRate Technology” offers precision that won't decrease over time (with its contactless magnetic sensor). There is no tact switch and no potentiometer to wear out (allowing for unlimited product lifespan). The firmware is upgradable, and the internal memory offers adjustable gearshift travel to suit your driving style (software available for download on PC). There is an adjustable resistance when shifting gears and the shift-plate position and rotation is adjustable by 360 degrees. The clamping system position and rotation are also adjustable by 360 degrees. The clamp is optimized for any support surface, including tables or shelves from 1 to 55 mm in thickness (0.04” to 2.17”). The built-in screw threads and removable clamping system allow for cockpit mounting. For PC use, the TH8A Add-On Gearbox Shifter works with all racing wheels on the market. With the PS3 and PS4, the gearbox works with the T500RS, Ferrari F1 Wheel Integral T500, T300RS, and T300 Ferrari GTE racing wheels. On Xbox One, it works with the TX Racing Wheel. This is the best shifter ive ever used in my life!!! It feels amazing when im drifting or shifting quickly in races. I would recommend this to anyone who does simracing worth the price.

I use this product for racing simulator games and Truck simulators, both uses i love the feel of it. The feeling of shifting feels good, it does lack some vibration, but its made up with being able to shift it hard. Its knob being just being easy to remove makes it a delight and the options to make it a handbrake or sequential shifter justify its price

I Have almost no problems with this shifter, It feels good to shift with, has 8 gears and it works as a separate device. but I have 2 main problems, it will only work on console if you have a thrustmeter compatible shifter that you plug it into the wheelbase to. The other problem is that the only mount option you have it the clamp you get with the shifter, so it can feel awkward on sim setups that don't have a place to mount it.

The first one I received was a defective unit. Worked for about 2 weeks then died. Never connected well from the start. It happens. Amazon replaced it asap. If you're looking for a multifunctional shifter (h-pattern & sequential) this is the one. Works great with a TX servo or direct to pc. It's sturdy hell! You can position it in any way the suits your rig. H pattern feels amazing. Could have more resistance but it's still killer. It's a bit pricey but if you're looking to upgrade your sim rig, it's worth it for your favorite racing/rally sims!

I'll start by saying that I bought this item at a greatly reduced price because it was used and in acceptable condition. I was leary of buying at first but I thought what the heck any issue at this much below the price gouging sellers I can overlook or fix myself. To my surprise there was absolutely nothing wrong cosmetically and the functionality is as new. Not sure why the used acceptable condition selling status but definitely a win. This shifter is amazing. I did notice that when connecting directly to steering wheel(t-150) i had issues with gears changing on game without moving shifter. Solution is to not connect directly to steering wheel but instead use supplied USB adapter and connect to console/pc. I read this is only for t150 and it doesn't list t150 as compatible on box but works just as well. Great heavy product. Well built and will last..would definitely recommend.

I waited forever before deciding myself to by this Thrustmaster TH8A Add-On gearbox shifter for PC. The main reason was that the price has been variating quite a lot with a minimum observed around $150. The second reason was that I was enjoying the pads shifters on my wheel and I was satisfied with it.Eventually, after getting the Sparco Handbrake, getting the manual shifter became logical too... Both are attaching to the Thrustmaster clamp which I also bought. I had to pay more than the base price but I am glad that I did because now the item is only available by other sellers and for a ridiculous price (over $200)So now I have the Thrustmaster TS-PC racer with the Ferrari GTE-F458 wheel as an add-On, the TH8A gearbox shifter, the Sparco Handbrake and the T3PA Pro pedals.I understand that it is medium range in term of quality (when compared to direct drive wheels and load cells pedals) but it makes for a wonderful immersion.As for the Thrustmaster TH8A Shifter, I find it, like all other Thrustmaster equipment, expensive but also of a great manufacture quality. Experience wise, it works as well as an H shifter or sequential. The swap from one to the other requires a screwdriver and a little bit of work but I do not expect anyone to change frequently.It is actually more than an H shifter since it has actually 8 slots (7 gears + reverse).It is very sturdy and provides a good feel as for the spring and handling.In conclusion:Yes, I greatly recommend it for a better rallye experience like Dirt Rallye 2 and all the games for which a manual gearbox would be preferable.It is easy to configure, compatible with all other Thrustmaster equipment but even more.5 stars.

Now this piece was the most anticipated part of my whole setup and out of the box, it's a big boy. It's hefty and made of plenty of metal as advertised which is all a good thing. Hooked straight up no problem and functioned without a doubt. The clamp by the way is strong enough alone to not need the optional hard mount like the rest of my setup. The tension screw is nice, but wierd how just about everything else about my rig has an allen screw, including the shift plate screws, but that. Oh well honestly for how easily accessible and adjustable it is. Now the one thing that I had a problem with was that after the third day it just started to shift into different gears, and eventually stop registering at times then reconnect. I took it apart after contacting Thrustmaster, and looked at everything then put it back together. Nothing seemed wrong and after testing it again it worked fine. The fact that something could have come loose and happen again like the ground, I can't throw that last star in there.Yet when it works, it's amost perfect. As for shift knobs, it looks like aftermarket knobs will fit, but I coun't find a stock shifter to fit. They all just slid over the grooves.
