Axle tubes are 72in. long and can be cut to the exact length needed for your application. Welding an axle requires the proper equipment and skill needed to apply a proper weld. If you are not comfortable with your welding capabilities, have a qualified welder assemble your axle.

I purchased three of these hubs, one for a trailer I'm building where I am going to make the spare tire carrier from one of these. I figure it's a great way to mount the tire, plus I will have an extra hub with all the internal parts if the need should arise, the trailer is a tri-axle car hauler. The other project is a chassis we are building of a tube chassis car, that we will cut in half and make into a wall art. The hubs will be welded to a piece of 3" tube and simulate a rear end, so we can mount a slick to it.

Had trailer wheel set extra from my 3000 lb trailer.worked great.welded up to my tubing, built a gusset for more weld.picked up a 1800 lb log and took through the woods no problem at all.Note lots of side loads etc.recommend for 3000 lb single axle load.geo

The hub was substantial and well made. HOWEVER, no dimensions were offered in the listing so . . . it didn't bolt up to the backing plate I had, and the center hole on my wheel wouldn't fit over the center of the hub. Since I had no way of knowing there dimensions going in, it was a waste of effort and considerable shipping fees to find that this hub wouldn't suit my purposes.
