Missing gasket. Lens rattled around loose and thus unusable as intended

Never seen this in a Tiffen product where the filter arrives rattling loose in a big hard plastic case, and filthy dirty (took at least a half hour to get the greasy smudging removed.). I can only guess I was sent a previously used filter, as there was no tape or any other seal to indicate a fresh copy was inside. I need the filter for a photo trip but will have to return the filter when I get back. Super disappointed in Tiffen and/or the vendor involved, and lost my previous faith in Tiffen products now.

Provides a useful protective cover for the Pentax 40mm pancake lens. Well-constructed optically clear has no effect on autofocus or vignetting.

I wanted to like this filter. First one had threads with no “ on ramp”, was scratched and very dirty. The replacement was the same. The QC department has lost its focus. Will look elsewhere.

Das wahrscheinlich einzige Filter mit 27 mm Diameter auf dem Markt, daher nahezu unterrichtlich wenn man der 40mm/f2,8 XS-Objektiv von Pentax benutzen will. Dieser Objektiv hat kein Sonnenblende und auch ein sehr kleiner Schutzdeckel der leicht verschwindet.

Bought 14 of these. First one, then 5 more, then more and more. First one was perfect. The others all required extensive cleaning to remove some kind of crud on them that was rather difficult to remove. The crud gave them the appearance of having tiny nics or dings in the glass but I was able to clean them by disassembly. Took about a hour and a half. NOT happy about that.

A few criticisms. It's packed in a plastic case (from the manufacturer) which is far too large for it, so it slides around and rattles inside the case. No foam or anything to hold it in position or even cushion it slightly.The glass on the one I received did not look clean. I thought it was dust, but cleaning with proper lens cleaning materials failed to get the glass looking properly clear. It looks permanently pitted or marked in some way. I will not even bother putting this on the lens it was ordered for.
