This little sweetheart is the cat's meow. Having bought two lockbox before which were difficult to use and overpriced, I was delighted with the ease of use, the elegant design, and how it exudes this sense of quality. Made me a believer.

The product worked as described for about six weeks and now I cannot set the timer anymore. The power is on and fully charged, but nonfunctional at this point due to the broken button. I looked to contact the seller before I left a review, but Amazon has made it difficult to contact sellers now, probably for some good reasons.Found it very useful when it did work!EDIT: The seller reached out to me (I wish I could have contacted them before I left a review) immediately after my review posted and offered me a refund AND a free replacement. I will update if any buttons give out on the new one as well. I appreciate the helpful customer service.

I bought this product on a whim because I'm trying to quit smoking. It doesn't exactly fit a full cigarette box but you can stash a few in there. It's helpful to have when you're trying to taper off. The hardware is sturdy enough, no issues with the mechanisms of the product. I wish it was big enough to fit a full pack in but it gets the job done.

I got this lock box to lock away a pair of keys to another container. I will note that this is a small box, but you should expect that given the information from the listing.I think this box is pretty great! The material is good and it seems fairly durable. I appreciate the counter having three digits for hours, so that I can lock my keys away for over a week. The timer is intuitive to use and the battery is decent. I have no complaints, this really does exactly what I was expecting and is a decent price for this type of item.

Timed Lock Box – Time Locking Small Container with 999 Hours LCD Display – Portable Locking Box with Timer Lock for Storage – Break Bad Habits – Credit card, Cash, Key,MedicationNote: this only works for kings, not 100s. I got my mom one of these when we realized she had inadvertently doubled her smoking over the course of a few months. She has a poor memory, so when she was bored and alone she might light up a new cigarette shortly after finishing one, rather than spacing them out a lot more through her day. This little device is a really handy way to track how much you're smoking--but you do have to be a willing participant, because there's nothing to stop you from taking extra cigarettes or just leaving the lid open. But assuming you actually want to cut down, here's how it works:1. Charge it up (includes a micro-USB cord) then set the timer for how many hours (up to 999) and minutes want the box to stay locked after you close it. Assuming you don't let the battery go dead, you only need to do this once (or whenver you inevitably do let the battery go dead), but if you want to change the timer, you can do this any time it's unlocked. I recommend snapping a pic of the instructions with your phone so you'll have a copy should you lose it. It's simple and you'll memorize it, but the charge can last for a couple weeks or more, so it's easy to forget the first couple of times. 2. The timer will count down from 5--this is your grace period to re-open the box. Then the box locks and the timer starts. The display will show you how long you have left. (The display goes off after a few seconds, but you can shake the box to bring it back on.)3. After the timer is up, the box will unlock. It will stay unlocked until you open and then close the box again, at which point the grace period countdown and timer start over. If you don't open the box after the timer counts down, it stays unlocked until you open it and close it again (so if you're sleeping when it unlocks it will stay unlocked for you). If you leave it open, it can't lock. And if the battery dies, it unlocks, so  you won't get locked it out if it dies. If you absently open and close it and don't catch it until after the 5-second countdown, you'll have to wait for the timer to open it back up. It's worked pretty well for her. She'll occasionally sneak an extra cig or forget to close it, but mostly it keeps her smoking at the level she has decided is ok for her, and keeps her from inadvertently overdoing it. If you wanted to gradually increase the time between cigarettes, this would be a great way--add 10 minutes a week or whatever. You could also use it for cash or candy or whatever roughly-cigarette-pack-sized item you want to limit. I could see it being super helpful for strong pain management meds--medicine that you don't take on a set schedule, but where it's important to space out the doses for safety. So if you're having a good day and don't need it for several hours later than usual, you don't take it; but once you do, you won't have access again for X hours, so you can't accidentally take too much. I think this would have been helpful for my dad managing pain medicine when he had cancer. As far as expected life my mom is on her second one of these locking cigarette cases, so this is our backup. We've had 3 different brands, and they all look and work exactly the same, down to the cord and the instruction insert. I've set and tested this one a dozen times, and it works the same. The first one lasted about 6 months with frequent shaking and lazy charging, and then it eventually quit holding a charge. Right now, she's on her second one, so I don't have a long history of their expected life, but I do think she was pretty hard on hers, and you can probably expect a longer life. But even if it didn't pay for itself in the cigarette savings, I'd be happy to buy one every 6 months to help my mom keep her smoking to a level she's comfortable with.

Randomly pressing buttons made it unlock but also the hinge is very weak. Just overall not a good solution

I like this small, self contained lock box with built-in countdown timer lock very much. It is attractive in design, its metal themed styling uses mostly ABS plastic and such for the structural portions of the box, but it does provide a thin brushed aluminum outer skin that results in a very stylish overall presentation. The front sports an LCD countdown timer (green display) allowing for any duration in the range of 0 to 999 hours. This display also shows the lock / unlock status. Once the timer duration is set and the box closed, a countdown of 5 seconds is shown prior to the box executing the lock function. At the end of the duration, the box will unlock. Note that the timer duration is NOT cleared when the box unlocks, so when the box is opened and then subsequently closed, a new locking cycle begins. You must specifically program the duration to 0 hours in order to be able to repetitively open and close the box without it locking. The interior of the box is not huge, but it does provide about the same volume as my 3 middle fingers in a group, but it will hold a key or other small item. This stylish lockbox offers a nice feature with its built-in timer lock. I give it a good recommendation, it seems to be a reasonably decent solution for a timed lock container.
