Its a Timken seal, what else about this should come into question? If you're replacing this then chances are you were in messing with the left axle-shaft (drivers side) for one reason or anther. My original Spicer seal of almost 30 years gave up the ghost when I rebuilt the spindles and knuckles of the D35 IFS. The rubber portion of the seal that is fused/adhered to the conical metal inner lip had lifted up off the metal allowing gear oil to leak out. This of course was likely to have happened when I re-inserted the axle-shaft previously. Prior to installing the new seal, clean up the mating surface with fine grain sand paper, clean the inner lip, and grease the seal with gear oil so the shaft will slide in the slip fit without pulling or stretching the seal. You can use and 1/2 extension with a large socket that can fit around the handle of the seal installer to evenly seat the seal through the knuckle. I had to place the seal installer plate through the opening by the radius arm first then line up the extension with socket and handle through the knuckle to to install. This was due to the bolts/nuts inside that block the plate coming through the knuckle.
