This item does not fit my Dana 35. Although it looks well built the OD of this is 2 3/4" where the tube ID on the Dana 35 is ~2 3/16".I'll need to return this item. Sad.

Used a (TIMKEN 714675 Seal) to replace the pinion seal on the front differential of a 1998 Ford Explorer (which like all 1995-2011 explorers and 1998-2011 rangers uses a Dana35-SLA front diff). Fits/works.Used a (Timken KWK99181 Oil Seal) at the same time to repair a groove in the pinion yoke. Fit/works.Used the hack where you count exposed pinion nut threads and make nut-alignment marks so that I could reinstall the nut in the exact original location (so that I could skip the whole new crush-sleeve + measure rotational effort procedure).

AS LONG AS ITS POSSIBLE I WILL NEVER USE A DIFFERENT BRAND SEAL ! TIMKEN SEALS ARE SO HEAVY DUTY, SOLID AND AFFORDABLE. PUT ANOTHER SEAL SIDE BY SIDE AND IT JUST WONT COMPARE. THIS SEAL FIT PERFECTLY AS A REAR PINION SEAL FOR MY DANA 35 ON MY 2004 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. IT SHOULD APPLY FOR 99-04 JEEP WJ'S WITH DANA 35 IN THE REAR. IM ABSOLUTELY IMPRESSED WITH TIMKEN AND GETTING READY TO DO MY FRONT PINION SEAL NOW
