I occasionally need a platform to place a rifle for maintenance, accessorizing, or cleaning and this fits the need quite well. The "vise" doesn't anchor the rifle but the shape keeps it from moving or rocking. The small frame stores easily.

For cleaning, this is all I need. It is sturdy enough and big enough, in fact, any bigger and it would be in the way. I looked around, this was the least expensive cleaning vice I could find although it was listed elsewhere for about 2X this price. When you set it up correctly it is very stable for cleaning (it is not a shooting vice).

This cradle is very portable and doesn't compromise much at all. Perfect for mounting scopes and any regular maintenance for your long gun. Perfect for bringing to the range or leaving in the car during your hunting trip

Very cheaply made, but it's a cheap vise. It will definitely do the job though. I needed something quick for one use and this was perfect for that. It's not bad for someone who doesn't need it a lot. But if you need one to use often, I'd buy better.

This works quite well for exactly what it was designed for - a compact stand for cleaning rifles. It is not perfect & is small in relation to the overall gun lengths, but it works great! Folds easily & stores away so nicely. That's why I bought it, so I don't have to leave a larger, true vise on my counter constantly.Stability wise it is fine - no issues there. I have used it to clean a few different models of bolt rifles - all fine - and some AR uppers - again no issues. You could possibly put a whole AR in it, but unless you are simply wiping down the exterior, I am don't know why you want to it. It's not a gunsmithing vise, so if that is your need, go buy one of those. This is great for cleaning & being stowed out of the way.

I’ve never used this at the range, but it gets a ton of usage at home. One of the most essential pieces in my workshop, and very good value for the low price. I use this to hold rifles when mounting scopes, accessories, or simply when taking items out of the safe.Has good rubber protectors that protect and hold firm in position. Adjustable in length so that it fits all rifles I own. Two handy small parts trays molded into base keep things from getting lost. Not super sturdy for heavy duty gunsmithing, but it’s worked for mounting six scopes, many red dots and accessories without any issues. Folds up small and secure when not in use.When this one wears out I’ll likely buy another one. It’s a good value.

This Tipton compact range vise is a little misleading, for one it ISN'T a vise! What it does is extend out to hold your gun, nothing more! It folds up and it does what it was intended to do, be compact and provides a place to put your rifle to work on and it holds it securely.
