Very easily bent when inserting these into hard ground. They could work in soft ground, but I'm not convinced the holding power would be sufficient for highly tensioned tents.

These work well in grass where they can be hammered far enough the hook catches in the grass. In other cases they can spin in the ground. The stakes that hold vestibule cords which are attached and removed are practically guaranteed to spin off the cord in wind.Great light weight. Good for holding footprint grommets in place. None have bent so they have some good durability.

Have purchased these several times now to replace the garbage stakes they sell with most tents. These are great for navigating roots and rocks in the soil.

Stakes are very light, under 2 ounces for all six. Held up great in soil of medium density (not really loose but definitely not hard pack either) with decent wind gusts from a storm.I immediately realized that they are very easy to lose on the ground since they aren't reflective and are very narrow. I added a small strip of reflective tape to the end of the hook and that really helps.The bag the stakes come in works ok but I'm a little nervous about the sharp ends poking right through it since it's not reinforced. If that happened then they could easily damage anything nearby in your pack, so would also recommend replacing with an UL stake sack with a reinforced end.

I am a bike tourer and I'm always looking for ways to save weight. These tent stakes saved me 60g over my old aluminum tent stakes. Not only are they lighter, but they are stiffer so they don't bend. Plus, they are smaller in diameter so they go into the ground easier as well. Better stakes that weigh less. Great buy.

I bought these to lighten up the weight of my Big Agnes Fly Creek tent. While not as sturdy as the original stakes, they weigh half as much (6grams/stake) and are still quite strong. I recently used them on a 2 night trip and they worked perfectly. Be aware, they probably will bend if pushed too hard into rocky terrain. The price is right and shipping was fast. These work well, if you can exercise caution when placing them in the ground; they're not meant to be pounded in with a rock or driven into rocky ground! They're very thin and light (just 6.2 grams each) and are prone to bending if care isn't taken. But if you care about reducing your pack weight as I do, they're great!
