cheap, dinky, thin metal. would work fine for plinky little crafts, but wouldn't go near this if you're looking for anything that's going to last.

They have a small lip at the top of the top piece, presumable to help hold it onto the lid, which is fine if the lid is 1/2" to 3/4" thick. You may need to file the the lip off, or push it firmly into the wood (if using pine or something soft) or carve out a small relief in the wood.Screws are small, be careful with the torque and pre drilling. Try the screw on some scrap to get the size drill right.They work nicely, price and delivery time are quite good. They have on my two boxes for several days, so I can not judge their durability.
