This bracket allows you to hang the MyQ Smart Hub on the metal support bars that hold up the garage door opener and garage door tracks, instead of screwing it on a wall. One of the benefits is that you can use the power outlet that the garage door opener uses, which is usually vacant, instead of taking up one of the plugs on a wall that you might want for other things. You also don't see the power cord running down the wall; it's up high and out of sight with the garage door mounting bars.This bracket does require the base plate from the myQ hub; it won't hold the hub itself without the base plate (the mounting plate that normally gets screwed to the wall). Once this bracket is attached to the plate, you simply pick a spot on one of the support bars that holds the garage door opener or the garage door itself, and screw it on with the handscrew.It is not rock solid (if you touch it, it will wiggle around), but it does hold it in place and it stays there for normal use. It even has "wings" for you to wrap any excess cord around it so it doesn't sag.If you don't feel like drilling holes, installing wall anchors, or using up a wall outlet, then get this to hold your myQ hub closer to the opener and use one of the outlet plugs on the ceiling that the opener uses.

Must have for all MyQ users. I did it want to drill into my new garage ceiling and this tool free drill free mount is the best solution. Functions perfectly and now gets better WiFi signal since it’s lifted higher than where I originally had it. Garage door functions great as well no hiccups or random disconnects. Excellent value here 5 stars *****

I’ve seen people downrate brackets like this because it goes against the MYQ instruction of keeping the hub at least 4 feet from any metal and/or from the garage door motor. I didn’t really want to drill into my new garage ceiling, so I thought I’d give the bracket a try.* The MyQ hub has no trouble getting the WiFi signal from my WiFi extender. I fought with my old G0301 (black model) for nearly a year. Here it was ONLY because it was outdated. So I got s new G0401 version, and the setup went flawlessly. Believe me, if the garage door operated unreliably, I’d return the bracket. I had zero problems.This particular bracket is nice because it has “ears” that let you wind the excess power cord around it easier.

This product was purchased specifically for use with my new “My Q” garage door opener/keypad. If you purchase this keypad, along with the separate “smart garage control module,” you will likely need a mounting bracket for the control module. This bracket fits that need perfectly. It is easy to install, has a good build quality and is relatively inexpensive for the functionality it provides.
