This rain chain is undeniably beautiful and has proven to be quite durable. It has withstood some truly intense southern storms without showing any signs of wear, which is impressive. The craftsmanship is evident, and it adds a lovely aesthetic touch to my home. However, I was disappointed to find that it did not include the hook or attachment necessary to connect it to my gutter, despite being pictured with one. This omission created an unexpected extra step and expense. While the chain itself is excellent, the lack of the pictured attachment led to a slight frustration, hence the four-star rating. Had the complete pictured product been included, it would have easily earned five stars.

I ordered the butterfly version as they appeared to be larger in height than the other versions. I'm happy with the height of the cups with the butterflies- they extend the top of the cups by quite a bit. I love dragonflies I wanted the deepest cup or as much height as I could get. When these arrived i was very happy with my decision, and feel the others would have been disappointing to me concerning the height. I believe the height of each type is illustrated in the pictures so do Pay attention to this information !! This product doesn't come with the adapter like some do. Also the bottom plate you see in the pictures is not part of this product. What you receive is only the 8.5ft or so chain with cups. The chain is lightweight - much lighter than even the lightest chain you would find on most hanging light fixtures. Overall this is a lighter and thinner product than others I have. They are pretty but I feel pricey for the gauge of the metals and lack of adapter. From the pictures it looks like the plate matches the chain so did assume it came with that piece. I saw no adapter for hanging but thought --oh having a plate would be cool to set up until the vases and drainage are set.. maybe with stones in it it would keep it from blowing around and maybe could be used on top of the vase later. To keep stuff from falling in -- again - bottom plate is not included and even though it seems to match the set .. no info about it was included in the package not even to order separately. Rain chains really need to be secured at the bottom as well and this one being so light weight absolutely needs to be secured somehow so if your new to chains leep this in mind. This one is definitely light enough to be installed even on the lightest weight small aluminum rain troughs with deforming the metal. That said if you have a pretty stout heavier duty type gutters you will probably want something a bit more substantial.. . This is much lighter weight than the last set I ordered. The chain is smaller and lighter. The cups are smaller and lighter. They are super cute but lower quality than others and over 1/2" shorter (even with the butterflies ).Would I order these ? Hmm at a lower price I may just because I like the butterflies design and the height is in the ball park of my others ,also, I feel I could swap out the chain for a heavier one that I like and looks more on par with the others.. . I just feel at the current price near $39 it's not worth the extra work just to have butterflies and I really feel the others being even smaller are a hard no for me - there are higher gauge metal with larger cups & with more complete kits at this price point. They are not junky, and I am totally going to use them on my smaller building that has the least square footage of water to Drain of 4 buildings that I'm putting chains on. The butterflies are beautiful and i do like them alot. I feel this particuler version is a 3 star item that could be improved. I will put them up as is when I get the adapter, but probably will change out the chain at some point to upgrade the look.

So beautiful! I chose the butterfly design. Bigger and better quality then I anticipated. The little cups are deep, and well made with thick metal. It appears very durable. Worth the price and looks more expensive than it is. It's still winter so I haven't hung it outside yet but I can't wait to put it to use. Once I do in a few weeks, I'll be updating my review. Beautiful addition for your yard.

I’ve always thought these were really cool and, since I have a short roofline on a portion of my house which has no gutter, I ordered this rain chain decoration.I chose the one with the dragonfly motif because we have many, many dragonflies around in summer.It is oil-rubbed bronze in color with slight gold highlights and little dragonflies molded into the design of the cups.It’s a little longer than 8 ft but, if need be and a pair of pliers, it could be shortened, if necessary to use on a smaller building, such as a shed, for example.It’s winter here but we have had a couple days where the temperature was in the 40’s so I hung it out. It’s mostly just snow melt-off, at this point, but it did catch & divert some of the water as it came off the roof. Even if it isn’t catching any water, It looks really cute and “artsy” and I placed it where it can be easily seen from one of my seating areas. I love it.It remains to be seen how it lasts through the years but I intend to store it in the garage during our harsh northern winters, like I do the rest of my garden art.

Trendy and overpriced at $39. This rain chain did not come with any way to attach it to the gutter. I had to the gutter attachment separately which added $10 to the cost!In addition, it's a lot smaller than imagined. See photo.On the positives, I like the dragon fly design.I'm just not impressed.

This is a very decorative rain chain. The metal cups are black with a copper shading and have cutout butterflies attached to them on both sides. It's about 8.5 feet long but can be shortened if necessary. It comes with an attached hook for hanging. I wouldn't call the chain heavy duty but it seems durable enough. This is a real eye catcher, be it hanging from a gutter or hanging in the garden. Even from afar you can tell it's something unusual and unique. This would make a great gift. Definitely recommend.
