Got this for my mini who gets too plump on the spring grass.Pros:I like the padding on the pole and the large holes on top make me less worried about her having trouble breathing or breathing in dust. I’ve also had it for almost two years and it only recently got a small tear in the rubber of the nose part, so that speaks to its durability.Cons: there is no padding on the actual nose part of the muzzle, and it doesn’t get wider as it goes up her face, so if I don’t leave it loose enough it rubs the underside of her jaw. I also had to edit the muzzle by adding the brow band and throat latch of a head stall in order to keep her from being able to get it off. This may just be a problem for her as she’s smart and likes to problem solve.Overall I’d say it’s a good buy, just make sure it fits well enough so it doesn’t rub

I have a B size mini. He is stocky... This halter doesn't even come close to fitting him on the tightest setting. I returned it. If you have a mini that fits this, then it must be a pony!

I purchased this muzzle as it was recommended to me for its durability. It has not even been a month since the product arrived and have used it on my Pony. As per the photo, the padding around the cage is broken and the cage ends are exposed, the padded chin strap is ripped, and our pony easy rubs his ear in the fence line, pulling the Valero adhesive apart allowing him to remove the muzzle. Sorry, but very disappointed after the long wait for the product to arrive to have it fall apart with a month of use.

well made--I purchased this because we adopted an orphan colt at Christmas and was worried that the dominant late gelded stallion we have would be extra ruff on this foal that was not born here. I thought this would reduce the biting while the herd sorted out the new pecking order. The big guy managed to get his mouth out of the mask but it still interfered with any biting..only used it for 2 days but it did serve the purpose.

After realizing my horse would have to wear a muzzle all summer I wanted him to have one that was comfortable and fit well. Despite maybe being comfortable, this muzzle was giant! My horse is a 15.2 quarter horse with an average horse sized head and the “horse” size this company offered was huge. After two weeks he’s managed to keep it on simply because I’ve looped it through his fly mask. Without the mask, this muzzle would stand no chance. Additionally, the oversized product probably serves an unsafe purpose at this point because if readjusted my horse could catch the muzzle on his leg or a fence with all the extra space. Yes this product is adjustable in the headstall but the actual bucket is was what way too big. I would not buy again. Also just for kicks, the product took over 3 weeks to arrive when the initial arrival date said a maximum of 2 weeks.

This is a nicely made, comfortable grazing muzzle. The muzzle itself is very nice. However, my mare figured out how to get out of it the second day I used it. I put a fly mask over it the next day and she figured out how to slip out of both!

I tried contacting them to resolve this but I got no reply. I did not have time to send it back and wait for the right one as I had an acute laminitic in recovery. She was cleared for short walks and I hated having to fight her over grazing. So I use this with duct tape covering the hole so that she can't eat anything. These are also good for stopping horses that bite at themselves (fly allergies) and of course actual grazing restriction. It seems very safe, the velcro quick release is a nice feature. The one they sent is their non deluxe model, which in itself is fine quality and works well. It is just not what I ordered.Customer service: 1 starGetting what you ordered: No starsQuality of received product: 5 stars.

We just received our second Tough 1 Deluxe Easy Breathe Grazing Muzzle. We used the first muzzle daily, for 16 months before it showed any real damage. It has been worn out to pasture, while feeding from tightly rolled round bales, while eating loose hay fed from square bales, and while eating from a round bale wrapped in a slow feeder net. (Gotta love easy keepers who can get fat just looking at hay!)Rarely did the muzzle come off, although the mare wearing it was VERY determined to try. After the first year, the rubber mouth hole developed a small crack that caused absolutely no discomfort to the horse or interfered with how the muzzle worked. On month 17, she rubbed her face and broke one of the thin nose straps, but failed to remove the muzzle. We continued putting it on her every day and it was a full month before the second nose strap broke. By then, this poor grazing muzzle had been worn and abused daily for over a year and a half. Believe it or not, the thing continued to stay on and work well for another month. The only reason I had to order a replacement was that our curious yearling nibbled the muzzle off its hook, pulled it through the fence, and gleefully stomped and chewed it all night long. When we found it in the morning, it was frozen into the ice and snow in our paddock and we couldn’t get it out. Since the replacement arrived, we’ve rescued the original muzzle and guess what? It’s not pretty but it still works! When we used the first muzzle, it rubbed a bit of hair off the horse’s nose in two very small spots. I purchased an inexpensive set of fleece halter covers and put them on all the straps. This protected from rub spots and worked really well.Side note: My neighbor was constantly fighting with her horse’s muzzle (the Tough 1 original) so she bought one of these and has been thrilled too. She does not use halter covers and her horse has very minimal rubbing.I highly recommend it and would give this muzzle more than 5 stars if I could!!

I ordered this for a petite 39" shetland pony and it was too big. The muzzle has a lot of adjustment, but not enough for the little pony. However, it did fit a larger 45" shetland I own, so I I kept the muzzle. Little one inherited another brand. I like the style of this Tough-1 grazing muzzle. The large opening at front makes for easier breathing in the hot summer. I plan to eventually replace my Other Brand grazing muzzles with this style.
