Tourna Tennis Strings - Awards
All Tourna strings are crafted with the latest technology and are second to none in performance. The above award chart demonstrates excellence in both Poly strings as well as arm friendly multifilaments.
Tourna's Polyester strings are all made in Germany using advanced materials and including polyether, to help deliver a softer string that absorbs shock and increases comfort, while retaining incredible durability, power, resistance to movement, and tension maintenance. This blend of poly materials make it a true co-poly.
Tourna Big Hitter Poly's hold 3 of the top 5 slots for spin potential per the Racquet Sports Industry Magazine playtests. Black 7, Silver 7 Tour, and Blue Rough are in the top 5, with Black 7 as the best in spin of all strings ever tested, and still tops the charts to date. Silver 7 Tour is Black 7's stiffer counterpart and has been awarded the "Best Tension Maintenance Poly" EVER by Tennis Warehouse University Labs. Shaped Polys
Many poly strings are shaped like the one above. Silver 7 Tour and Black 7 have seven sharp edges that bite into the ball upon impact and impart massive spin. These strings are both top 3 for Spin potential. Other shaped polys include Big Hitter Blue Rough and Big Hitter Silver Rough which have 8 sharp edges and then twisted. Tourna Grit is more of a textured poly that feels like sand paper and can really grab the ball upon impact. These Tourna polys are known for their control, low power, and spin.
Round Polys
Round poly strings are smooth and un-textured. The round nature of the string helps "snap back", which is the movement of strings upon impact. More snap back imparts more spin on the ball. Big Hitter Deuce, as shown above, is the first multi-colored infused poly giving you the best of both worlds of power and comfort. Smooth polys also are a favorite with synthetic gut and multifilaments because they don't wear the softer string down as quickly. Other round Tourna poly's include Black Zone, Big Red, Big Hitter Blue, and Big Hitter Silver. All of these Tourna Polys are meant to be softer more powerful, and easier on the arm than traditional poly strings.
Soft Synthtetic Strings
Multifilaments and Synthetic gut strings are the softest and most powerful tennis strings. Multifilaments are meant to mimic the elasticity, softness, and feel of natural gut. A favorite among players with tennis elbow. They are made with thousands of fibers, twisted together, and then dipped in a polyurethane to bond the fibers. Quasi Gut is extremely close to the feel of gut and soft on the arm. Quasi Gut Armor has tiny polyester wraps to help its durability. Synthetic Gut Armor is one of the best all around strings on the market for playability.

This textured poly is great - it exhibits a lot of spin potential, plenty of power and control, and is equivalent to many more expensive equivalents.

I’m not sure if I got a bad/old spool, but this string has been garbage. Have had 5 or 6 times when stringing and the string just pops, not stringing any higher than 50 pounds so should not be happening. Or on a couple occasions the string has popped after a couple matches. Have strung with many other different strings and never had issues like this. I would NOT waste your money on this string.

I didn’t lower my regular tension on this, it took 10 hours of play to break it in. Had it on 55lbs. Felt like a board off the machine. Lower it at least 15 percent.

I hit flat. This gives me spin without trying. A friend who spins tried these and is now spinning shots out of his mind. It bites the ball so expect fuzzy killed balls. In other words, keep the fresh balls coming cuz you’ll be killing it.

Still searching for the perfect string but this one has performed better than other strings I have tried. Good balance of spin, power and durability. I am a 3.5-4.0 player so I don't hit as hard as pros so that is one reason I don't break strings.

I'm not one to typically write reviews, but I love this string. Strung on a ProKennex Ki5 315, this string is the bomb. It's by and far the most arm friendly copoly I've played with, It has massive pop, and great topsping. Control is still acceptable on this string, and drop shots are especially effective. My biggest complaint is stringing and weather changes. This string is a big of a pain to work with, and you don't want to leave it in the car overnight during a freeze cycle... It's prone to snapping then.

I like it better than multi-filament better than gut.Good control, mild pop - bit not too much - which I like - great control string! You can really drive through without over hitting. Can get great spin as well. Fairly inexpensive - lasts reasonably long. String has great characteristics until it breaks. Please ignore my review - I don't want anyone else to use this awesome string! Let it be my secret for playing better. I am a 4.5 player.
