First. The product is good and should smooth out the ride over rough areas of my lawn. But the instructions stink. I don’t think I’ve ever met an engineer who knows how to write. So here’s some helpful hints (this is for my Husqvarna MZ54):First, remove the seat and slide rails exactly as the instructions say (but don’t throw away any hardware). After this, do everything exactly backwards from the instructions. Install the rails back on the mower first (but do switch their sides as the instructions say). Then mount the suspension mechanism to the mounting rails. Doing it this way makes it much easier to reconnect the seat switch. Once mounted, rout the seat switch cable through the mechanism, making sure it won’t pinch anywhere and reconnect it to the seat. Mine had a plastic retaining clip that had to be cut to make enough slack in the cable. See the photos. Then you can mount the seat shell to the mechanism. Reuse any spacers the original setup had. Finally, put the seat cushion back on and you’re ready to go.

Just finished installing this on my Husqvarna MZ5225 a few hours ago and took it for a test ride. I didn't really know what to expect, so I was pleasantly surprised to find that it helps to soak up bumps a lot. The key thing is that it HELPS. It doesn't COMPLETELY absorb bumps and shocks, it's not an air ride seat. So don't expect to be riding on a beautifully maintained 90's Cadillac or Lexus, lol. For whatever reason, parts of my backyard are extremely bumpy (little under 2 acres). I do plan to try to flatten it out this spring to hopefully alleviate some of that. The suspension does make a HUGE difference, though! No longer am I nearly getting thrown out of the seat in the worst parts, to the point where the mower tries to shut down.As far as installation goes, it was a breeze. Took a little under an hour with a 1/2" socket and wrench, and T40 Torx (to remove the seat from the rails). I did have to stack four pairs of THICC washers between the suspension frame and the seal rails to allow room for the slider adjustment lever. Can't comment on the seat switch since mine has been removed and "bypassed" with a hose clamp since it's finicky and I can't be bothered to replace it. If I were to replace the seat switch, I would absolutely have to either fab up spacers or stack some washers, but I probably won't. I may also move the control sticks to their higher position since the suspension frame puts you up a good few inches.Overall I'm very pleased with my purchase. It helps a LOT once you get it dialed in, and the higher seating position seems to be a bit more comfortable, too!

This fit my Husqvarna MZ54 perfectly. The only alterations I needed to make were adding in stacks of washers to allow a half inch clearance for the seat safety switch between the bottom of the seat and top of the product. I couldn’t find any reviews specifically for the MZ54 and was worried I would need to drill or modify something or another. I did find a review were someone took theirs and mounted it upside down. So I tired that thinking it would save me some time and the trac seat didn’t work at all. I contacted the manufacturer via email and they promptly responded that if the trac system was out on upside down that it would not allow the pivot points to work correctly. So I took it all apart again and this time followed the manufacturers instructions. I did find out that I could’ve saved myself so much time by leaving the sliding rails attached to the mower. The video on the Trac-seat website shows the installer removing the sliding rails on a different make of zero turn. Husqvarna MZ owners, not the case. Leave those rails in place! I did use the spacers that came with my mower to mount between the bottom of the trac system and on top of the sliding rails. The bonus in doing so is you won’t need to move the sliding seat control lever to the opposite side as this will give enough clearance for the trac system to move up and down. I did use stacked washers between the bottom of mower seat and top of the trac system to allow clearance for the saftey switch. Even by adding a half inch with the washers the bolts that were included with the trac system were long enough to avoid any trips to the hardware store. I had plenty of wire length when rerouting saftey switch through the precut hole on the top of the trac seat. If it weren’t for searching my garage for washers I would’ve said this was the easiest install ever. Well that and maybe if I had installed correctly the first time. The seat is comfortable and I don’t have the lower kidney beating pains when hitting rough terrain and mole tracks. Worth every penny and at a fraction of the cost compared to zero turns with a ride control systems preinstalled.

I have a Husqvarna M-ZT61 mower (7 or 8 yrs old) and have been sitting on a doughnut ring to soften up the ride. My "yard" is really just a mowed pasture and very bumpy. My son saw this and suggested I buy it.I am really happy with the improvement in the ride. if you are looking to save your back don't hesitate to purchase this product as it works better than I expected. The installation was very easy. Here are a few suggestions to help with installation as the instructions are somewhat lacking.1. after removing the seat from the adjustment tracks. you need to swap the left and right tracks so that the adjustment lever is to the right of the seat instead of under the middle of the seat.2. after unplugging the seat switch you will probably have to cut the zip tie that holds it against the frame and pull a little extra wire forward and route it through the hole in the front of the suspension unit before mounting the seat pan to the suspension unit.3. lastly the bolts that hold the front of the seat pan to the suspension unit need to be put in from the top and the nuts on the bottom so the seat will sit all the way down and the seat switch will work.Go ahead and buy it you won't regret it.
