The magnet is weaker than a refrigerator magnet. Do not recommend you buy this. There are others saying the magnet is very strong and maybe they got a good batch. But the one i just got is terrible. Purchased 10/22/23

It works, but the magnet is weak. The magnet will barely hold the weight of the plug if you hang it on a piece of steel. There are other brands with about 5-10x magnet strength. Only one plug in package. Picture makes you think there is 2.

I used this magnetic plug on a 1997 Jeep Wrangler TJ rear diff cover. Amazon got it to me in a day and a half, it was packaged adequately and not damaged in any way. The magnet was strong enough to lift a 3in long 3/8” socket extension off my work bench so I’m pretty certain it’s plenty strong enough to pickup any rogue metal shavings. This was installed in a Yukon diff cover they they failed to send a plug for. Seems to fit perfect and hasn’t leaked one drop.

As with all transdapt products, you will be very happy with the quality. The magnet could be a bit stronger, but it does it’s job. There is a much larger magnet on the differential cover, so it isn’t extremely necessary. Oddly enough, you will need a 17mm socket with 12 points. I prefer this to a 3/8 square socket, as it can be more difficult to locate since it is flush with everything else.
