Got this to replace my original control panel on the older Austin XL. It has been through 14 overnight smokes, so far zero issues. I have yet to use the thermometer inputs but the panel itself definitely 5/5. Easy install.

Installed in under 5 mins. Once I read the directions about the “P setting” it worked perfect. Temp control was great and the controls themselves are better than the original in my opinion. My Austin xl stopped heating the pellets, so I replaced the hot rod initially and it still didn’t work. I replaced this control panel since it was only $40 and it works perfectly now. Wires are color matched for confident connections. Can’t go wrong.

Pit Boss Classic 700, I think, but I can’t find the model number. After replacing the igniter, pellets fed non-stop. Actually they fed after the original igniter stopped working I reasoned because the grill never came up to set temperature. So I replaced the temperature sensor. Pellets kept feeding. All I read or videos I watched suggested pellets might be moist or humidity too high or whatever, but didn’t mention the controller board. So, after more reading and shopping for a new Pit Boss, I decided spending about $40 more was worth a try. I wasn’t sure the new board would work because it is different in appearance. I didn’t have red and yellow around the temperature knob.In operation I am very pleased with how my grill now works. Grill temperature fluctuates about ten degrees or not at all according to the digital readout. It may drop a little more but most of the time was within the ten degree range. I think that’s great. The dial thermometer on the lid reads a little higher. I’m okay with that. The main thing for me is after about a week of experimenting my grill is working again to my satisfaction.I also bought a grill cover. Finally. I haven’t exactly been kind to my grill. On the positive, I’ve learned a lot this past week about how my grill works. I never used a meat probe on this grill and enjoyed watching a pork roast come up to temperature. Grilling is fun again and I’m going to try more recipes.

The install was super easy, but it doesn’t function very well. I’ll set the temp to 250, it will go to about 265, quit feeding, then drop all the way to 200 before it attempts to get back up to target temp. It absolutely will not stay at the set temperature. It swings 50 degrees no matter what.Also, it was impossible to try to set it to the correct program like the instructions stated. It simply did not work. So I very well may be in the wrong program, but I couldn’t change it even if I wanted to.

Ordered April 6th Today May 30 auger motor keeps going no mater what I do. Tried unplugging to reset it nothing works. Got the grill set at 200 and it's at 520 since the auger never stops feeding pellets. Sucks past the Amazon 30 return window so just stuck with it. Update June 3rd reached out to the seller about my issue with the controller and they said they are sending me another one free of charge and two free igniters. So at least the company stands by their product. Will buy from them again.
