It’s a little disconcerting to have the little turtle’s butt and the internal hinge showing so conspicuously, with the turtle’s head pointing down, but we’ll get over it. Otherwise, it looks good, works fine. Just what we needed.

Beautiful door knocker! It’s not how it’s shown in the picture. The head is down not too happy with that. The screw holes don’t line up. Other than that it’s beautiful. Doesn’t look like I have to clean the brass. That’s a plus. The sound is like a loud thud meter hitting the door & metal. I don’t know how else to explain the sound. I guess it depends on your door if it’s metal or wood.

We put this on an older front door, and it gave it just the right amount of character without being kitsch or tacky at all. It remade the appearance of the whole front door, with just that little touch. It is a very high quality well-made product of substantial heft. Our house was in Florida so it was the perfect touch. I wish I could find more other creatures like this that don't look tacky. Not every house looks like an English townhouse to be able to carry off the Jacob Marley lion heads.
