It doesn't work. The water went cold. We had installed a tankless water heater and my was having trouble adjusting the water so I bought this unit and it does not work. Would not recommend this to anyone.Thank you for letting me to send this back.Paul

I installed this in my custom built toy-hauler/camper to supply hot water to my sink and outdoor shower. I paired this mixing valve with a Bosch 2.5 gallon hot water heater. I set the water heater to maximum temperature and tested out the mixing valve range. Cold water in the water tank was sitting at roughly 62 degrees and the mixing valve adjustable range was from 65 degrees to 138 degrees (max temperature the water heater could supply). I set the valve to 95 degrees (my preferred shower temp) and I could tank much longer showers and the water heater was able to stay on top of keeping the new inflow water at temp pretty quickly….. was running almost like a tankless hot water heater!!! Great little mixing valve!!!

The installation was a challenge. It works! I start a shower by turning on the hot water, full on. The valve will cut off the water when it reaches a scalding temp; a safety feature. Then I turn on the cold water, full on. It takes a minute or two to settle on the preferred temperature. Be patient. The temp numbers printed on the dial are incorrect, a vague suggestion. I installed a thermometer on the output and used that to set our preferred temp. It keeps that temp within a degree or so. Within a 2 degree spread, I really can't tell the difference. The thermometer is a worthwhile feature. The effectiveness test is when someone in the house flushes a toilet. It maintains the temp!

So as others have commented it leaks, however I was able to apply pipe putty to it and fixed it.

Don't ever use the cheap Teflon tape they send with any plumbing item it's plastic junk not Teflon. If it don't leak right away it will eventually......

Installed to provide hot water to an outside tap in order to fill our hot tub with hot water so the time to heat the water was shortened. Works great. Easy to install.

The 1/2" G to 1/2" NPT adapters that came with mine are definitely not G to NPT. They're G to G extensions. So I simply didn't bother using them (the fewer possible leak points, the better). But with a load of sealing tape and sealing cord, it was easier to seal them up than return the product for a replacement. The mixing valve is great!

the valve could not be installed because one of the adaptors could only be turned on by 2 threads depth. Also the washers supplied were not for G female socket and probably would have leaked?

I installed this mixer in the bathroom so that children cannot burn themselves while washing their hands. You need to have a valve on the cold water line with two threaded ports, one for the sink, and one for the mixer. The installation was simple, I used 1/2 f.i.p braided faucet hoses.

I have had it installed for about a month and seems to work great. The temperature dial is accurate and feels sturdy. It is also best to install a valve at the water output which I intended to do anyways. Then connect the water hose to the valve. If you don't have the valve in place, water will constantly trickle out as this device only mix the water and not really to open and shut off the water. You can connect the hose directly to this device but if your hose burst, then that could be another problem.Overall, I like this device and for the price point does its job well. Hopefully, it will last a long time.
