Your cart is empty.CRL Vulkem 116 Sealant is a one-part moisture curing, gun grade polyurethane sealant. Vulkem 116 is durable, flexible, and offers excellent performance in moving joints. No primer is required on most construction materials, and it applies with conventional caulking guns. Basic Uses Vulkem 116 is an excellent general purpose sealant designed for use in precast masonry, glazing, window frame perimeters, and similar types of construction joints. Suitable for continual immersion in water with the appropriate primer. Designed for exterior and interior use, the light, grainy texture has proven very popular for matching textured substrates like stucco and masonry, and for smooth metal storefront joints. The light texture blends and hides tooling marks, and the wavy effect that is inevitable when tooling sealants. Technical Data Conforms to U.S. Federal Specification TT-S-00230C, Type II, Class A; ASTM C920, Type S, Grade NS, Class 25, Use NT, M, T, A, I (Class 2), and O. USDA approved. CAN/CGSB 19.13-M87. Canadian Food Inspection Agency. City of Los Angeles (COLA) approval standards. Limitations Do not apply to damp or contaminated surfaces. Not recommended for surfaces with special protective or cosmetic coatings without prior consultation of the manufacturer. Use with adequate ventilation. Color as expected. Adhesion to sides of TSP concrete far below adhesion of NP1. Had this Redwood Tan been available in NP1, I would never have paid double what it should be priced at. Seems Redwood Tan is harder to come by for color. Wasn't a premium caulk in my experience.

It does cost more than Vulkem in the store but they don’t have a large selection of colors at the big box stores. I ordered it just for the color

Product performed well, sealing the mortar joints I was repairing for a friend. While I didn't really notice anything unusual when I was applying the sealant, after it had cured I could see a real difference in the color of the repairs from the first one to the last one. There is no apparent way to "stir or mix" the product in the caulk tube so I assume the variation must be the result of something that happened while the tube was stored at the vendor -- maybe temperature variation, orientation of the tube, ????

I am a contractor in Minnesota and do alot of siding with half log and other kinds of wood. This product is absolutely the best in terms of adhesion and durability. Couple of words of caution, if you are a novice at making a nice caulk bead you will be in trouble with vulkem. Second don't even attempt to use a cheap caulk gun. I use a higher leverage coxx caulk gun, about $ 25 well worth the money. This product does not like to be tooled with a finger once laid down. Your bead needs to be right the first time if it's in an area where it will be seen.
