Bought for a 2005 Polaris Ranger 700 XP 4x4 with EFI.It fits perfectly and works perfectly, only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is the old one was U.S. made, this one is the same part number from the same manufacturer and it's made in Mexico. I'm sure it's still fine quality, just disheartening.

This was a direct replacement for the factory starter relay on a Polaris Sportsman 500 ATV. Problem was a clicking noise when the key was turned, and the engine would not crank. This solved the problem.

The original starter relay had one terminal for the relay coil. Original relay was 722-1211-212 - made in USA. New one is made in Mexico. On the original relay the ground was via the relay casing. So over time the ground connection got worse as the casing rusted. When we installed this one we had to make a new connection from one of the terminals to ground. Looking down on the relay hot went to the small terminal on the right and ground went on the small terminal to the left. Leads to starter were connected as on the original. This was installed on a Polaris 4 wheeler. Started right up once the new relay was installed - before the starter relay just clicked. I took the old relay apart and found that the relay contacts were in bad shape - one side only had 25% contact and had started to melt the insulating material around the contact. Also, that is how I found how the casing used as ground connection - all via a little wound spring.

Looks just like the original I removed from my 2005 Polaris Sportsman 500 HO. I have used it about 12 times now in the two weeks after installation, works flawlessly, I am satisfied.
