Makes it much easier to hit higher notes on a trumpet or coronet. The mouthpiece has a slightly tinny sound. It is well made but trifle longer than my other mouthpieces, making it unsuitable for my C trumpet.

Schilke standard mouthpiece is comparable with any manufactured brand on t he market. The only method of getting better quality is to get customed made.

I don't normally write reviews without having owned the item for at least a few weeks. So take my thoughts with a grain a salt because my son has had this for all of a day and a half.It is exactly what he wanted and he says it plays as well as he expected.I'm not musical, but my twin boys are die-hard trumpet players and they work hard on their skills. So I trust they know of what they speak.
