Great little hatchet. Good value for what you pay.

This is a great value in a hatchet for $20. The head is very securely mounted to the handle. I keep it near my grill to split oak to add to the fire. Works great!

This is a very sound, solid choice for anyone looking for an introductory throwing axe. I've been throwing mibe a LOT for about two months now, since I coach axe-throwing for a living, and am VERY pleased with how this axe has performed. It's well-balanced, and quite sturdy. I would cheerfully recommend it as an axe for any throwers looking for a sturdy axe that will help them develop good fundamental skills.

I bought this to chop up some small stumps. It was sharp right out of the box, had a great weight and really holds an edge. The handle feels good in the hand and it has a round wedge for a solid fit.

We took it camping over a 3 day weekend and the handle came lose. Did the job but needs to be repaired.

I was curious to see how good a Truper axe was. For $20 I figured I could chance it. I was not disappointed. While this is not a top quality hatchet like you’d see from a Swedish axe house, it will hold its own with a Vaughn or Estwing hatchet. The steel is hard enough to hold an edge for a decent amount of chopping. It came with no edge, so I ground better bevels myself on a bench sander. I made the edge thinner than what it would have been if I had followed the factory angle. Still after testing it out on a big cedar log, it performed as well as comparably priced hatchets I have. The edge remained with no chipping or rollovers. The handle feels decent after removing the lacquer. The shape isn’t the best but it won’t go flying out of your hand with a hard swing.Fit and finish are surprisingly good. There are no gaps between the haft and the eye. The safety wedge did not split any wood on top of the eye and the powdercoating on the head was uniform. My only gripe is with the hang of the head. It is twisted off to one side slightly. I’d be tougher on it, but I just bought a Vaughn rigging axe that was twice the price and had twice the cant to the head.Overall, a good little hatchet for the price. Would recommend.

Well, it's an okay looking axe, Drilled a hole in it, and made a grip, as well as buying a nice sheath for it. It is dull as hell and cant keep an edge long enough to dent a tree though. Oh well. Don't take it in the woods too long!
